Guest guest
Dear Group, I want to warn everyone in the group that we have at least one " embedded " member here who is playing games to hurt other members. They have been here a long time and are protected by and cannot be removed. Here are some more of the ongoing emails that he/she is spoofing the senders name of who they are from and sending them out to members. They contain viruses. If you get any messages from either of the senders below, Please do not open them. (from) -nomail (message) Hidden message (from) (message) Unable to deliver your message The first one says nomail on the end of a sender name of our group and the second is with an exclamation point then a space between the words and groups. Guest guest
dear Frank and group' I cannot understand why a member who is threatening the computers of others in the group cannot be removed- I belong to other groups who remove anyone that is badly behaved , and sending a virus I would say is certainly very bad behaviour! Why can they not be removed if evidence exists to show their guilt? I for one am sick of this virus mentality that threatens the patient work of others - especially in a heath group! maybe that is the problem ,maybe a mole from some big corp with vested interests?parden my cynicism. another matter, does anyone know how one could download the archives for future reference? i'm sure there is a way but do not know how - warm regards to all (except the brain dead who sends the viruses!) -kim califpacific <califpacific wrote: Dear Group, I want to warn everyone in the group that we have at least one " embedded " member here who is playing games to hurt other members. Guest guest
Frank - How can you be certain that this person is doing this deliberately? I am a certified PC Technician and specialized in virus removal when I worked at IBM. Today's viruses often take information contained on the hard drive of the person's computer and use it to not only send to addresses it finds, but also to spoof the from address with an erroneous address. So if your hard drive contained email addresses of people in this forum, it could send the viruses to them and also make it appear that the email message was sent from one them or anyone else's email address it found on your computer. It does this very randomly and that's why it is almost impossible to determine where a virus is coming from. You would have to be looking at the sending IP address and/or the SMTP server it was sent through and deal with the people on the sending server to determine where it truly came from. If, in fact, you had proof that this person was doing this deliberately, I'm sure would not protect them. It would not be in their best interest to do so.
