The study found that psychopaths come in all shapes and sizes, and that there are far more of them out there than we thought. Because 'corporate psychopaths' have similar ruthless traits as sadistic killers, it often helps them succeed in gaining management roles, the study found. They vastly outnumber those who commit crimes and end up in prison, according to the study published in New Scientist magazine. The study said people should be much more aware of the traits of 'office psychos' to avoid becoming their next corporate victim. They tend to be manipulative, arrogant, callous, impatient, impulsive, unreliable, superficially charming and prone to fly into rages. They break promises and blame others when things go wrong, the research suggests. Scientists claim that around 1% - or 600,000 - Britons fall into this category. Professor Robert Hare, of the University of British Columbia, who carried out the study, said a simple test can be used to spot a psycho. " Wherever you find money, prestige and power you will find them, " he warned. " The most important thing is to be aware if you are working with a psychopath.
