Guest guest
received this in another group, haven't checked it out. What can you do??? John, you can write a handwritten letter to your congressman, call him, email him, fax him, take a baseball bat to him...WRITE letters to the editor of your local newspaper...write letters to the editors of national newspapers. Attend a church near you and stay for coffee hour and talk about it. Go to a PTA meeting and do the same thing. Do everything in your power to make people aware. ==== RMN INSTRUMENTAL IN U.S. SOUTH BORDER POLICY CHANGE??? Posted By: PRAVDASEEKER <Send E-Mail> Monday, 16 August 2004, 5:45 a.m. http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=54106 Dear RMN Readers and Agents, What I am about to report to you dear readers brings a glimmer of hope to my heart. This possibility that RMN was instrumental in a southern border policy change began late last month. The TOMBSTONE TUMBLEWEED, a small paper in Arizona's desert was the initial impetus, and some brave Immigration officers who came forward to get the word out. http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=53137 http://www.tombstonetumbleweed.com/tombstone/asp/site_search.asp?search=+arabs+c\ aught+in+Az & submit=Search+%3E%3E & mode=anywords#iframe1 RMN received permission from the editor/owner to post the news and a week later the story was being posted, printed in numerous sources. http://www.interventionmag.com/cms/modules.php?op=modload & name=News & file=article\ & sid=823 http://www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/breaking_4.html Rense carried the story too, after RMN did. THEN comes the story that RMN posted on the Al-Queda female leader caught in Texas. http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=53238 In a remarkable unexpected change of Bush policy it seems, this story is posted in the Telegraph in the UK.. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/08/15/wmex15.xml BEGIN SNIP.. " President Bush has launched a drive to halt illegal immigration across America's porous southern border, amid growing fears that terrorists may be using Mexico as a base camp before heading to Arizona, Texas and California. " " A string of alarming incidents has convinced Bush administration officials that lax immigration rules, designed to cope with the huge numbers of illegal entrants from Mexico, have become a significant loophole in the war on terror. " END SNIP A significant loophole in the war on terror, is EXACTLY what RMN was PREACHING!!! Let us hope and pray that something will FINALLY be done about this problem!!! But this " COIN " of hope has two sides in my opinion too... Is it part of the reason the troops are being pulled from Europe, mainly Germany.. and sent home? To defend the border? Or get em ready for something with Iran? Bolster troops in Iraq? Or as another agent posted, is it because something IS going to go down in USA? And these troops will be used here at home for street patrols?? It has always been a symptom of government, too little too late. RMN told Washington that they better wake up and smell the coffee, and that if something bad went down in the southwest, or anywhere really, and it was found out the bad guys entered through MExico, it would be mighty difficult to say they did NOT know about it this time. And the anger and repercussions from the citizens would NOT be pretty... well now we see a policy change, Finally... I hope. To any readers who were instrumental in getting the word out to elected officials prompted to do so by RMNs news... to any person in WASHINGTON DC, who reads RMN and got the word out to someone in authority, THANK YOU< THANK YOU< THANK YOU!!!!!! My only concerns are, this is sorta like CLOSING THE BARN DOOR AFTER THE HORSES COME BACK IN>>> and these are WILD AWNRY DANGEROUS horses (Fanatical Islamics) that got in the barn!! Let us see if the barn door does get closed, and let us pray no evil befalls our nation because of this security breach. I suppose the real thanks needs to go to those brave Immigration Service officers who risked their jobs, to report this news to the TOMBSTONE TUMBLEWEED.. RMN made it hit the internet in a big way... and it has evolved to this?? Well, if so, THANK GOD. It gives me great pleasure to see how RMN can be VERY important in this world. And by posting a story or two, RMN may have in a roundabout way prevented another disaster down the road for us all.. Hang on folks, it is getting even more interesting and weird in this world we live in.. like a circus ride... the kind that can make you wanna puke too.. lol. You never know til you are on the ride if it will... or if it will a great experience. Pravdaseeker John Polifronio <counterpnt wrote: " Immediate action required??? Maybe more than anything I've read of late. VERY ANGRY!! == Statement of U.S. Border Control 8/17/2004 1:36:00 PM National Desk Contact: Edward Nelson, 703-356-6567 or ednelson or Ron Pearson, 202-547-7177 or govtrel both of U.S. Border Control; http://www.usbc.org WASHINGTON, Aug. 17 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Edward I. Nelson, chairman of U.S. Border Control, told the Congress they are " guilty of either cowardice or complicity with regard to the Bush Administration's plan to buy the Hispanic vote with America's Social Security Trust Fund. " " Last September, " Nelson reminded them, " when we provided testimony to the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Claims, you were put on notice that the President was seriously considering signing a pact with Mexico that would give any Mexican who had worked in the U.S., including illegal aliens, full U.S. Social Security benefits, paid out of the Social Security Trust... and you did nothing about it. " Nelson continued, " And today, when there is less than 30 days to repeal this outrageous treaty that virtually guarantees the bankruptcy of America's Social Security Trust Fund, you continue to do nothing. " " What happened to all the promises you made to your constituents? How many times have you sworn to protect our Social Security system? How do you think your constituents will react when they learn that you stood by and did nothing to protect our nation's primary retirement system and left millions of Americans at risk of financial disaster? " " Let me tell you how they will react. If they have any sense at all, they will throw you out of office, " said Nelson who pointed out that " with most retired Americans already finding it difficult to make ends meet due to low interest rates on their savings, this is the worst possible time to be squandering this crucial safety net that can mean the difference between life and death for some of our neighbors! " Nelson reminded them that the treaty actually gives Social Security benefits to Mexicans faster and easier than Americans can get them. Americans are required to work a minimum of 40 quarters or 10 years to collect Social Security. " This treaty would allow Mexicans who have not met that minimum to include their alleged work experience in Mexico toward getting our Social Security! In fact, " Nelson continued, " the reality is that any Mexican need only get across the border for a short time in order to qualify for a lavish retirement paid out of the Trust Fund that was supposed to be safeguarded for American retirees. " Nelson urged every Representative to cosponsor and vote for H.Res.720 immediately. This resolution, sponsored by Rep. Mac Collins (R-Ga.), allows the Congress, under section 233(e)(2) of the Social Security Act, to disapprove the treaty. Unlike other forms of treaty which have to be ratified by the Senate, this treaty becomes effective 60 days after it is presented to the Congress, unless it takes specific action to disapprove it. " Unfortunately, the timing for repealing the treaty couldn't be worse. The President signed it knowing that the Congress is trying to recess and most Repesentatives have their hands full with their reelection campaigns. " U.S. Border Control is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, established in 1986, that is dedicated to education of the public on issues related to the protection of the sovereignty of the United States, including the establishment and maintenance of effective border integrity systems, economic policies, national defense practices, and immigration policies focusing on ending illegal immigration by securing the nation's borders and reforming the border and immigration policies. http://www.usnewswire.com/ -0- /© 2004 U.S. Newswire 202-347-2770/ http://pets.care2.com/ http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com " It is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument. Guest guest
While I appreciate the programming at rense.com, I think the whole issue of protecting our border with Mexico sounds suspiciously racist. As for Homeland Security, none of our borders are secure. As for " the bad guys " , I'm concerned about the implication that this implies some Arab or Muslim. We have plenty of potential " bad guys " who could potentially do something " bad. " In a democracy, the point is that we are all presumed innocent until proven guilty, isn't it? As for " female Al Queda leader caught in Texas " , I'm concerned about the crime of guilt by association. It seems every time a Muslim is arrested, it is because of some possible link to Al Queda or some crime they were possibly thinking about committing. Doesn't this bother anyone? Do you know that many Muslims have gone to Afghanistan in the past 20 years to fight the Soviet Union, and this resistance was supported by our government? These Muslims viewed themselves as being on the same side as the United States government. Now this association is being twisted retroactively to criminalize them. As for the Mexican problem-Hey, they had the kids whereas you choose not to. What did you expect? Also, I would like to add that the Mexicans are warm and loving people. If some of them do not have sanitation or do not have access to jobs, that does not reflect on their value as humans. As they say, " But for the grace of God go I. " Count me as someone sick of hearing about the BoogyMan. The world demographics are changing. Our real problem is with world trade agreements that are going to squeeze all of us. Those in South America are just feeling the pinch more than we are right now. Can you blame them for trying to come North and make some money? Many, many Americans are leaving the United States to retire where they can afford to live better. (How many are retiring in Mexico?) PS. I don't believe the 911 story, and a lot of other Americans and others don't believe it, either.
