Guest guest
I need wisdom from this list.my dh and I are visiting church members this afternoon. Hospitalized members. One is a 61 yo male. He went on a cruise to Alaska and on the last day of that journey, his leg swelled. They went to the ship doctor and he told them he saw no punctures and he didn't think it was a bite. Then another doctor called it cellulitice ( spell ). Well they pumped him full of antibiotics and the swelling went down. Now it is back again and is in his foot. It also bleeds. Still they are saying not a bite. No one has an idea.It has been 3 weeks now. It sounds like some type of poison in a spider. Any of you have any ideas? His wife is falling apart. TIA, Pearl

Zinc is for detox and echinacea to boost the immune system. I would add to that olive leaf extract caps and hyssop tea (Alvita or some other HFS variety)for infection. I would also advise using a strong Epsom salts soak every few hours. I have had several experiences with spider bites and Epsom salts is very effective for this. Topically, and in between the soaks, if they can obtain at least 5 percent tea tree oil cream and apply several times a day, alternating with vitamin E oil. Tea tree is effective for swelling. BALCH also recommends a poultice of fenugreek and flaxseeds, mixed with slippery elm bark. Good luck! Cheers, JoAnn
Guest guest
Dear Pearl, Although there is no definative known cause at this point, it is obvious that something bad is going on in leg and body. The first thing that " should be done " is to see that he is administered large amounts of vitamin C by IV. To " actually get it done " may prove difficult in american hospital. The vitamin C is antibacterial, antiviral, anti inflamitory, etc. it will neutralize the toxins involved and then carry them out of the body. It will also help to protect the tissue involved from further damage. It should be the number one choice for anyone in these circumstances, but it may be difficult to find any doctor to help.
