Dear Group,

When we get questions that ask what do I take for high cholestrol or

what do I take for an ongoing problem with constipation it is very

telling.

It tells me that if the conditions are of a continueing nature that

there is problaby something wrong more than just those " symptoms " .

Yes, people ask questions about those things as if they are the sole

problem, as if the person has a constipation or high cholestrol " disease " .

They don't say, I have a symptom of such and such and such and such

and what conditions could this mean. No, they say my health problem

(disease)is constipation or high cholestrol and how do I " cure " it. What do I

" take " ?

Constipation could be caused by a number of factors. It probably

reflects that the person has an improper diet with insuficient

nutients and quality of food. Maybe too many processed industrialized

foods devoid of the real properties of food found in nature with it's

vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, enzymes, etc. It could be other

things but that is usualy the most common. Taking something that

causes the person to " go " may be OK temporarily, but if it is because of

a specific nutritional defeciency taking it may help temporarily but it

certainly doesn't correct the real problem.

The other one is basicaly a question that asks how do I " cure " my

" disease " of high cholestrol? Number one high cholestrol is not a

disease to be cured. It can be a symptom that something is occuring

within the body. It could be that the diet is insuficient in the right

kinds of oils, or a deficiency of some other nutritional factors or it

could be the body manufacturing cholestrol to help it or protect itself in

some way. The allopaths and the drug companies are the ones pushing

this as a disease. They " create " a disease and then they sell you an

offic visit and a pill to " cure " it. It doesn't work because number

one it is not a disease and two it is just an indication that

something is going on in there. What is going on and why is the

important part and one that your doctor doesn't have a clue about and

could care less about also.

The bottom line is that the majority of this group doesn't understand the

difference between a symptom and a disease. They do not understand

that the body is a self regulating, self healing entity and the most

important thing is to be educated about what is nutritionally

necessary to do so and what toxic substances could be interfereing

with health and get them out.

PLease go to our links page and read about nutrition and educate your

selves with sites like http://www.doctoryourself.com or by reading

nutrition books like those by Adele Davis, etc. Real health is not

achieved by " treating " every symptom with the appropriate natural

" medicine " . That also is the allopathic model. One drug for one

symptom and we do not care what caused it type approach. The natural

method says that there is an interplay between many, many factors and

the body is capable of sustaining and regulationing itself IF it

receives all of the nutrients that IT NEEDS. That means in the

individual subjective quantities and when it needs it. Not what I need

or what the government says, etc.

As long as people think in the same terms as the allopatic model they

will never " get it " no matter how long they " practice " alternative health.
