Guest guest
So where is the outcry for HCV??? China admits to 30 million. I suggest USA 8 million, minimum. As Koop says, it's a silent disease. We need to get the word out and make the world community aware. Current medical treatment is only effective in 46% of those who complete the dreadful treatment. And it is only indicated for those in otherwise good health. That is to say, normal blood pressure/ekg, average red and white blood counts, cancer free, no depression, no pulmonary problems, etc. Several diseases are severely contra-indicated. I'm trying my best to take care of my liver with CAM's. I realize they won't eradicate the virus, but they will limit the damage. We need MUCH more study on these alternative treatments. I find the more I study, the less I know! ~mk ---- 07/09/04 07:13:40 alternative_medicine_forum HIV virus 'has spread to 38 million worldwide' > Misty <misty3 > Thu, 08 Jul 2004 00:32:44 +1200 > HIV virus 'has spread > to 38 million worldwide' > > HIV virus 'has spread to 38 million worldwide' > http://news.scotsman.com/health.cfm?id=775142004 > > AROUND 38 million people across the world are now > living with the HIV virus, > the most comprehensive study of the disease revealed > today. > > The UN report shows the spread of the illness is > continuing to outpace > global attempts to contain it, despite billions of > pounds of funding. > > The number of people living with HIV has risen in > every region of the world > and last year five million people became infected, > more than in any previous > year. > > Officials believe " extraordinary leadership " must be > shown to tackle what is > described as " the development and security issue of > our time " . > > The figures from UNAIDS showed the number of people > living with the virus > had risen from 35 million in 2001 to 38 million in > 2003. > > Dr Peter Piot, UNAIDS executive director, said: " The > Aids epidemic continues > to outpace the global response.
