Guest guest
Healing yourself or becoming your own doctor.. I know that to some here, they probably thought what I wrote earlier may sound a little simplistic or way too basic for them. Actually, I was trying to make it as about as simple as I could. It is easy to try and overwhelm people with stuff that may seem complicated and deep, but what I discovered awhile back is that there are many people on this list who do not have a " whole " concept to work wih and are only trying to memorize what " remedy " works for what symptom or " disease " . That is the allopathic concept not the orthomolecular or natural health concept. When someone would ask for advice here, we would get answers from all over the map. Some of that is expected and has a certain amount of validity, but " symptoms " can be from different causes and I also realized from their answers that some might have some knowledge on one specific area of alternative medicine like herbs, homeopathy, nutrients, acupuncture, etc. but most did not have any unifying concept of natual healing. Their answers were always from the area that they had read about and knew somewhat, but it was obvious that they were trying to " match " up what alternative medicine (from their area of knowledge only) went with what symptom or disease. That would be great if all modes worked equally well for all symptoms and each symtom was unique to each specific disease. Unfortunately that isn't the way it works. If you are suffereing from a certain symtom it could mean many things. If you have a nutritional deficiency that is causing it none of the other modalities will work. only the nutritional one of replacing it will correct the problem. Others may help aleviate the symptoms and make them easier to live with but to cure or correct the deficiency you have to use what the body needs. If there is damage, you first have to supply the body with the things it needs nutritionally to heal. Other things may help with the symptoms but to heal is a biological process that is governed by the laws of science and requires the biological basic building stuff to rebuild or heal. It is impossible without it. Maybe you do not have " damage " even though you feel horrible. Maybe you are being poisoned in some way. maybe you need to " kill " the invading organism with something. maybe it is a matter of an ecollogically balanced body. Some other modality may be the perfect one. Although, I like some other modalities very much and find them very usefull, they cannot make the body do something that is against the way that the nature of biology works. (Acupucture cannot put minerals into your body for example.) That is true for all of them. You must learn a little about each and how they work on the areas of the body, a little about nutrients, a little about herbs, a little about homeopathy, a little about acupuncture, a little about a few other things. You do not have to become an expert in any of them. When you need them in depth, you can then research any of those areas a little deeper to find out about what you need to do. But you do need to have a basic understanding of the way that the body heals on a cellular level and how each of those modalities work in general.
