[sSRI-Research] PLEASE HELP STOP SEN DURBINS AMMENDMENT ON SUPPLEMENTS

PLEASE TAKE JUST A MINUTE AND GO TO THIS WEBSITE AND FILL IN A FORM

LETTER TO OPPOSE THIS .

http://www.healthactioncenter.com/action/index.asp?step=2 & item=19277

Senator Durbin is atempting to attach an amendment requiring adverse

event reports and other restrictions to the Defense Budget bill

today. This amendment will:

*hold dietary supplements to a higher level of scrutiny than

prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and food additives

through a provision requiring adverse event reporting to HHS.

*gut key elements of DSHEA and lead to reduced access to beneficial

dietary supplements.

URGENT ACTION REQUIRED!

Contact your Senator and tell them to oppose this Amendment because:

*this is an attempt to pass laws impacting the health of millions of

Americans by bypassing the regular legislative channels and the

Health Committee where these issues belong.

*this amendment has not had the proper consideration and is not

germaine to the Defense Authorization Bill.

*DSHEA gives the FDA ample authority to regulate dietary supplements.

Take 60 seconds to send a letter today urging your Senator to oppose

Senate Amendment 3225.

And, due to the urgent nature of this issue, please take another

minute to call your Senators directly and tell them to oppose Senate

Amendment 3225 in the Defense Authorization Bill.

tell him about it tomorrow.

My best friend, who has given me permission to write and sign for her signed

I sent this info out about three times in the last couple days.

Although I received the alert first from another source, I would truly like

to thank you for providing this distribution method for us to receive

valuable information.
