Why, what else? Pork Barbecue! And not even " backribs, " but the

shredded kind that floats in a sugar-laden red sauce. Mmmm-mmmm good!

Yep! Today I was chatting with some friends after church here in

Illinois, and they began talking about how they'd attended the

local " Relay For Life " American Cancer Society benefit the other day.

One of the things they mentioned was how delicious the pork barbecue

was!

GAAAAAAAAAK!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt the " delicious " pork barbecue was served on " absorbent

cotton " buns. No doubt there were potato chips, sugary cole slaw and

coke and diet coke to go with it, as well as lard crust, white flour

pies and greasy donuts and other confectionary.

AND I see that " Relay For Life " has been so successful and so much

fun for people here in the USA, that now it has metastasized to

Australia and elsewhere:

The American Cancer Society is well named. They could have tried to

disguise themselves and used a name like " The American Society To

Cure Cancer, " but since what they are about is perpetuating

themselves, " The American Cancer Society " suits them well.

What they really ought to call " Relay For Life " is something

like " Merry Go Round of Death, " and along with the pork barbecue,

potato chips and coke, there ought to be a table where they sell

chemo " therapy " !

GAAAAK! and DOUBLE GAAAAK!
