Guest guest
Dear Group, Most people see " disease " and treatment in a semimagical way of thinking. They " catch " a " disease " by some mysterious unknown process. They don't even think in terms of cause and effect. " I have arthritus. " " I have pancreatitus " " I have dermatitus " " I have " fill in the blank itus. They think that they are describing some specific " disease " , when in reality they are just describing a symptom or collection of symptoms. They go to the doctor because they are having a " problem " they describe the symptoms to the doctor and then he uses the latin term to describe the symptoms back to the patient. The doctor knows that he is just describing symptoms, but the patient thinks that he has tapped into a great secret store of knowledge and now knows exactlly of which " disease that he has " . It is a scam pure and simple and most doctors know it. What the " label " of that disease is, is usually only just a description of " where " it " hurts " or is " inflamed " . If you took your car to your mechanic because it was overheating and the mechanic described the " symptom " back to you in another language and passed it off as the problem rather than a clue or symptom of what was wrong, you would be offended. Take it one step further. The doctor gives you a drug to cause the symtoms to go away. It doesn't stop the bad thing that was occurring and it will probably get worse without you even knowing it. Switch to the mechanic scenario. The mechanic has described overheating to you in latin and does something to make the " symptom " of overheating go away. He can put a piece of tape over the red indicator light. He can cut the wire to the electrical bulb in that same light, etc. He fooled us by making it appear that he knew a secret that we didn't know by using another language to basically describe the " symptom " of the car and letting us believe that it was a specific cause rather than just a symptom. He didn't " fix " the problem, he just got rid of the offending symptom. The car will probably get " worse " over time. In fact with the " symptom treatment " that it received, the car will probally get " worse " faster because treatment will have exacerbated the problem. We continue to have many more further problems with the car. We go in many times for " symptom treatment " It becomes a contest whether the car will die first or whether we run out of money first. We say well we wouldn't just continue to go back to that mechanic, we would go to another mechanic who would really fix our car and not try and " fool " us. Well if a car were absolutely necessary and all of the mechanics were in the same monoplistic union and that was all there was available by law, yes we would keep returning because: #1 It is a monoply so there are very few other choices. #2 We have been brainwashed by our society and govenments that " mechanics " are special people with mysterious secret information. " Mechanics know best " #3 The " mechanics " have been brainwashed too that they are special people who have been let in on secret mysterious information and to top it off they all receive lots of money, power and prestige to go with it. Okay, now comes the part where you might have to learn to become your own " mechanic " . Welcome to our self paced, self administered school of " automotive " knowledge. We will learn what is a " symptom " and what is " disease " . What really causes " disease " . How does a " cure " come about. What " cures " what. To do so, we have to rid ourselves of " magical " thinking. So do you really want to and think that you can cure your own " carburetoritus " or " left turn signalitus " ? Guest guest
Hey Frank, I see you are into talking about medicine. Me too. If I dreamed at night, which I don't, I would be dreaming medicine because I write about it all day every day seven days a week. Today I just finished a piece about the use of mercury (deadly killer chemical) in vaccines that are given to children and babies. The greatest catastrophy ever in medicine, of which there are many happening right now.
