The Drug Companies Next Big Scheme to Grab Your Cash-

Coming Soon: a new series of ads by the drug companies designed to scare

you into your doctor’s office to have your blood pressure checked. Even

if your blood pressure has been perfectly normal in the past, your M.D

may likely tell you " It’s now too high. " That’s because a new

understanding of hypertension has prompted the AMA to change their

guidelines for healthy blood pressure. A reading of 120/80 is no longer

safe. " You’ve got to bring your blood pressure down right away, " your

doctor may say. Of course, the fastest, easiest way to accomplish this,

he’ll probably tell you, is to go on one of today’s new wonder drugs.

It worked before, so they’re trying it again

Sound familiar? It should. This is the same strategy the drug companies

used two years ago to capitalize on the change in the official

cholesterol guidelines. When doctors lowered the level for healthy

cholesterol from 220 to 200, the number of people in the U.S who " should

be " on medication TRIPLED. Overnight, 24 million potential new customers

were created!

The drug companies profited handsomely. In just two years,

cholesterol-drug sales increased by a whopping 32.5 percent! Last year

alone, doctors wrote more than 119 million statin prescriptions, and the

drug companies made $12.5 billion from them. (The $1.4 billion they

spent on all those scary TV and magazine ads didn’t hurt either).

The scheme worked so well, they’re at it again with blood pressure

drugs. This time, 45 million Americans who once thought they had

" healthy " blood pressure will be told they have a new medical condition

called " pre-hypertension " that needs treatment.

Doctors orders- Because it’s the doctor saying this, most patients will

comply. The drug companies realize this. That’s why they spend more than

$14,000 on every M.D in this country, currying their favor and pushing

their products with free samples…. Lavish dinners… free tickets to

sporting events and concerts plus all expenses paid golf vacations in

the Caribbean Islands billed as " educational seminars. " When Big Pharma

spends billions of dollars on slick TV ads to frighten you into " seeing

your doctor " they already know what your doctor is going to say. This

strategy is so sneaky it ought to be illegal. But the overwhelming

wealth and power of the drug industry is beyond belief- and beyond law.

They control every aspect of modern medicine. They've brainwashed

physicians and patients into believing that drugs are the only

trustworthy treatments we have. They wield influence over the medical

boards who write treatment guidelines over the insurance companies who

determine which treatments they’ll pay for over the FDA who " approve "

these drugs and over Congress and the White House who write and pass

laws that protect and favor the drug industry. When you are the single

most profitable industry on the planet (which they are), you can buy a

lot of clout. And part of that clout is directed at squashing any

competition, especially non-drug therapies. But don’t be foolish either.

Untreated hypertension is the most serious danger to your health today,

but you don’t have to get sucked into going the drug route because there

are many natural solutions solutions for any kind of aliment.
