Guest guest
Dear Group, We have and most online groups have a rule that to post to the group them message should be edited. It is so, so that that all of the extra junk picked up on the interenet is cut off and not picked up again until you wind up with a large distracting bunch of junk at the bottom. There are signatures, addresses, ads, etc added to each email by various servers. To repost all of that added on with your message is to clutter up the messages and to waste our time, resources, etc. and valuable space in the archives. The average repost after a couple of times if left unedited would eventually be more " spam " than message. People simply do not think or simply do not care. We have people who resend in a whole digest of many messages attached simply to make a one sentence comment sometimes. I have asked many, many times for all members to edit their posts before posting to ensure that we have information rather than spam to read. It has been a rule here for 2 1/2 years that if the post is followed by a lot of bottom clutter that it will not make it to the board and will be deleted. That is the rule here and for a lot of groups. I have edited posts every day to conform with the groups policies and still allow the post to make it to the board. I usually set aside all of the posts that need to be edited. If I get time then I go back and edit what I can. If I do not have enough time and more come in I just delete the ones that I didn't have time to edit. So if you wonder why some of your posts wind up being posted 2 days, 3 days, or never, after they were posted, this may be the reason. Or maybe it was for other reasons. But the point is that we probably just have to go back to deleting ALL posts that come in unedited no matter what they have to say. regards, Frank
