Flu shots for babies questioned

The Centers for Disease Control is ordering millions of dollars of flu vaccine

for babies as young as 6 months of age. But do your babies need the vaccine? And

is it safe and effective? Health reporter Bill Sardi reports...........

UNWARRANTED AND INEFECTIVE FLU SHOTS TO BE FORCED UPON BABIES

Moms and dads, you are going to be told your kids need flu shots next flu

season. Pediatricians are going to advise that kids as young as six months of

age should be punctured with yet another needle, but for no good reason.

There were 93 deaths of children under 18 years of age due to the flu in

2003-2004. [Morbidity Mortality Weekly Reports 52; 1286-1288, January 9, 2004]

The vaccination status of only 45 of the 93 deceased children was available.

Thirty-three (33) of these forty-five (45) deceased children had not been

vaccinated (73%). The Centers for Disease Control was quick to use this marginal

data to justify spending another $80 million on flu vaccine for young children

over a 2-year period. But the failure to inoculate may not be related to these

childhood deaths. Some of the deaths were caused by pneumonia or complicated by

other coexisting conditions. It could be that children who undergo vaccination

are also better nourished and have better access to modern health care. Their

survival may involve other factors apart from vaccination. Never mind that, the

childhood vaccine program is proceeding. Some 6 million healthy American babies

as young as six-months of age will start getting flu shots

next year. [CNN April 13, 2004]

The flu vaccine is actually a three-in-one shot which attempts to protect

against three anticipated forms of the virus. But health officials may guess

wrong. The January 16, 2004 issue of Morbidity & Mortality Weekly reports that

the 2003-2004 vaccine had " no or low effectiveness " against flu-like illness.

Is childhood flu vaccination safe and effective?

Has childhood flu vaccination been thoroughly investigated for safety and

effectiveness? One report states that " It is apparent that relatively few data

are available on the safety of flu vaccination in young children. " [Pediatric

Infectious Disease Journal 23:189-97, 2004] Another recent report shows there is

a wide disparity in the effectiveness of the flu vaccine, ranging from 31 to 91

percent among children aged 6 months to 15 years for influenza A. [Clinical

Infectious Diseases 38:678-88, 2004] Yet the CDC is moving forward to inoculate

millions more young children with a vaccine that may be just as ineffective as

last year's!

Just how many flu shots will you and your children receive over a lifetime? Hugh

Fudenberg, MD, an immunogeneticist who has authored more than 800 papers

published in peer review journals, reports an individual who received five

consecutive flu shots between 1970 and 1980 (the years studied) increased their

chance of getting Alzheimer's disease by ten times compared to zero, one, or two

shots. [Dr. Hugh Fudenberg, National Vaccine Information Center International

Vaccine Conference, Arlington, VA September, 1997]

Public health authorities will be coming to your child's school to jab kids with

needles next flu season. Who knows, if you object to these shots you might be

reported as negligent parents. Better get ready to learn how to file for

exemption status. Here's a website that provides exemption forms for each state

in the union: http://www.unhinderedliving.com/statevaccexemp.html.
