Hi Group,

Yesterday I was reading the back of a Cheetos bag and listed

is " zero trans fats " . I then read the list of " chemicals " in the

ingredients and in it was partially hydrogenated oil.

I was under the impression that the two are synonymous. What is the

difference?

Thanks to all the wisdom in this group!

Hi Kate!

This is just another example of the way we are being misled!

Any FOOD with the word " hydrogenated " in the ingredient label ALWAYS

HAS TRANSFATS INCLUDED!!

Tranfat also masquerades under another name...MONO-DIGLYCERIDES!

Numerous snacks, baked goods and margarines claim they

are healthy and good for the heart, i.e. benecol and take control,

however you'll find that they also include transfats as well!

This is what transfats is 'hydrogenated' or partially hydrogenated oils!!

This type of labeling will just generate more confusion on top

of that which already exists, and thats a LOT. Excuse me...If they're not going

to tell it like it is, they should just shut up about the transfats.

I know there is no healthy snack food other than organics and some of them even

have unhealthy oils (soybean, canola, etc)!

The rest of them all have artificial refined fats laced with omega-

6s which lead to even more bodily deterioration and inflammation!

If this is an example of the labeling that the FDA is initiating,it

just infuriates me no end. We the people have enough false

advertising to deal with now. For years I trusted all those ads

regarding " Promise " margarines and it almost cost me my life! Please,

BE VERY WARY of labels! Its the ingredients portion of all labels

that tell you the TRUTH!

Yikes!

This is just SO deceitful,

it makes me cringe!
