THE LAST RESORT

People keep asking me - what can you do for diabetes? What can you give me for

arthritis? What do you got for high blood pressure, weight loss, thyroid, hot

flashes, cancer, reflux, chronic fatigue... What they're really saying is - what

magic bullet can you give me that will allow me to continue my current lifestyle

of self abuse? I know where this idea came from. It's how we're raised: solving

health problems is not our responsibility. See the doctor. He'll know what to

give us.

 

When it comes to health, we try the easiest stuff first. Doctor appointments,

tests, MRI, procedures, drugs, and more drugs - sometimes even surgery. All the

things that THEY do - anything that doesn't require our participation. The

comforting illusion that we're doing something about our problem by letting

somebody else do it.

 

After a while, when all this has failed, a little light goes on - for some. And

that's the idea that these guys really don't know what they're doing. And that

if you're going to stop this downward spiral, it'll be totally 100% up to you.

 

Blind luck may suddenly reveal that the cause of most of your health problems is

what you're putting in your mouth, both food and drugs.

 

And now you've come to that point of self-loathing or desperation or confusion

or being fed up or whatever where you really want to make a change because you

know you have to. Maybe it's a chronic digestive problem. Or a " weak heart. " Or

diabetes. Or chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, or MS. Or arthritis, or allergies,

or asthma. Or a cross reaction from those combinations of medications that all

those guys are giving you, without much consideration or concern, after that 5

minute office visit. With a nurse.

 

Lotta people jumping ship here. And many of you are washing up on my beach.

After we start getting the spine in order, you want to know what else you can

do. That's when we start looking at detox - cleaning out poisons that are stuck

in the colon, the blood, the tract, the arteries. Rotting food, experimental

medications, years of over the counter stuff, all those party drugs - it's stuck

inside you. Time to clean house. Time to try something - anything, because

whatever you've been doing so far just isn't working. You know you're dying, and

that's not just an expression.

 

So here's your last resort - participation . Do-it-yourself health care. Many

people find out, some too late, that this is the only thing that was ever going

to work in the first place. What particular disease you have doesn't really

matter that much. So much of it is just a name game anyway - they're usually

just guessing. If your body's going to survive, the same rules of cell nutrition

apply in every case. No matter how advanced your particular problem, you're

still just flesh and blood like every one else. Your body follows the same

physical laws. Every day you're alive, certain fundamental problems occur for

your cells. Either these problems get solved or they don't.

 

Here's the checklist:

 

Hydration - water intake

Colon health

Enzymes and digestion

Drug check

Subluxation resolution

Vitamins and minerals

The four food groups

Motion

Sunshine

Most of the above have entire chapters devoted to them at

www.thedoctorwithin.com. Each one of them must be confronted directly if the

sick person is to have any chance of being healthy again - really healthy, that

is, not just the temporary absence of symptoms. Inside-out health - the genuine

article. So please read each chapter - the whole thing.

 

Right here we'll just mention a few key points about each one. Again, each area

is critical - it's all or nothing. Stop reading here if you're too exhausted to

care about your health to do this little assignment. Or if you're committed to

doing " as much as you can " to get better. This program is not for the irresolute

wimp. If you think all this is not your job, sayonara. Ask for more drugs.

 

1. Hydration.

 

You must start to drink a minimum of one liter of water per day. Two is better.

No exceptions. No excuses. None. This means you. Starting now. Do it. Read

chapter.

 

2. Colon health. Broom it out - there are a number of simple non-drug cleansing

agents. Repopulate with flora. Remember what the ancients said: death begins in

the colon. Read chapter.

 

3. Enzymes

 

If at least 80% of your diet is not raw foods, you need enzyme supplementation.

Twofold action: breaks down the rotting food residues in the tract and in the

blood, and secondly, helps digest new food. Read chapter.

 

4. Drug check.

 

Get a Physicians Desk Reference. I don't know, just get one. WalMart maybe. Get

your glasses or a magnifying glass. Look up every drug you're taking. Read all

the fine print on each one. Much of it is doctor-babble, but you'll be able to

understand the part about Adverse Reactions. That means side effects. Read the

whole section on each drug. When you're all done, ask yourself - did your doctor

do all that reading before he wrote you the prescription? Then read Conventional

Medicine Vs. Holistic . If drugs were going to cure you, wouldn't you'd already

be better? See how many of your current problems are listed as side effects of

the drugs you're taking. Exactly when did you expect your doctor to take you off

drugs?

 

Of course I'm presuming tobacco and excess alcohol don't even figure into the

equation here. Can't save a man from drowning if he keeps diving for the bottom.

 

5. Subluxation.

 

Find a chiropractor who knows what this word means. It means spinal distortions

that block and choke off nerve messages. Unbalanced posture. If treatment hurts

a lot, keep shopping. If they start talking about downlines and metaphysics and

emotions, keep cruising. You're looking for old-fashioned - not necessarily old.

6. Vitamins and minerals.

 

Each has its own chapter on the website. Read the whole thing.

 

Vitamins are worthless without minerals and enzymes. Enzymes are worthless

without vitamins and minerals. Minerals are worthless without vitamins and

enzymes.

 

Vitamins have to be either whole food or else in food. Minerals are best when

chelated. Enzymes should be whole food, working on fats proteins and carbs all

at once. Enzymes have to be used completely by your cells, with no fillers left

over.

 

7. The Four Food Groups.

 

Here are the four foods to avoid. This is the key to the whole program, right

here. Everybody's looking for the drug that will allow them to keep eating from

these 4 groups. Everybody wants to know how to get rid of his diseases and still

be able to eat from these four groups. Sorry, but it can't be done. There are no

drugs or supplements that are going to restore health as long as a major part of

your diet comes from these four groups:

 

I. Pasteurized dairy. This includes milk, cheese, butter, ice cream, yoghurt.

These are not foods. They're allergens. Pasteurization destroys the enzymes, for

added shelf life. The result is that we don't digest these foods. This is not

even mentioning the added antibiotics and weird bovine growth hormones that are

in most milk today. See enzymes chapter.

 

II. Hydrogenated soybean oil. In a few short years, this stuff has become a main

component of 60% of foods on supermarket shelves. It has no food value because

we can't break it down. Over 90% of it is genetically altered. It's in most

breads, cookies, donuts, pastries, salad dressings, margarine, cereals - start

reading labels. Subdermal cellulite anyone? Read the chapter called The Magic

Bean - the whole thing.

 

III. White sugar/white flour. You know - refined carbohydrates. Just because

people don't talk about it anymore doesn't mean it's OK. Diabetes is still the

#7 cause of death in the US. And that's only a small part of the physical damage

here. Again, read labels. And also read the chapter Sugar: The Sweet Thief of

Life on the website.

 

IV. Hard fats. You know - chips and fries. Stuff like that. It's still bad, no

matter what the newspaper says. These weird manmade fats are brand new to the

human race within the past century. They make us fat because we simply can't

digest them, but worse news is that they alter our DNA. Now we're talking about

cancer, autoimmune stuff and heart disease. Bottom line is - it looks like food,

but it's not. See Enzymes chapter.

 

So then what's left? What can you eat? See website - The New West Diet.

 

8. Motion

 

Think of it in terms of the lymphatic system . What's that? There's a second

complete circulatory system throughout the entire body that carries not blood,

but lymphatic fluid. This is the circulating immune system which carries away

wastes and helps identify foreign stuff. Problem is, the lymph system has no

pump to move the fluid around the way the heart pumps the blood through your

arteries. The only way lymph gets circulated is motion - exercise. Without

motion, this waste dumping system backs up. Want to get old fast? Stop moving.

 

The idea is, after you've learned about colon detox and freeing up blocked stuff

in the blood with enzyme supplementation, it's not enough to free all this toxic

debris from its resting place. Now it's gotta be moved through and dumped. And

the lymph system plays a big role in that dumpage. Walking, running, swimming,

bicycling, - something!

 

When it comes to drugs or to supplements, people are looking for the Magic

Bullet - that one pill that is going to take away their pain or disease without

them having to change anything in their diet or lifestyle. What they really want

is to have something done to them that requires no participation on their part

and more importantly, that will allow them to continue their current lifestyle

of self-abuse from toxic indigestible party foods. Drug manufacturers and

supplement companies know this, and target their advertising in the direction of

exactly that mindset: don't worry. We'll cure you. We'll take it from here. Diet

has nothing to do with your illness - it's genetic. You have no responsibility

for your own health - just leave it to us. All you have to do is take this pill

three times a day and 25 years of drinking, smoking, and overeating will just

melt away...

 

What a scam. In Conventional Medicine Vs. Holistic , we saw how the health care

system in this country today is just not working. And we saw how people are

abandoning mainstream medicine in favor of natural methods that work with the

body, not against it.

 

But here again, alternative medicine is such a quagmire of false claims,

hyperbole, and confusion that most of it doesn't work either. So how will you

know what works and what doesn't? One way is live cell analysis. See the effect

in your blood in 30 minutes. Another way is have some basic criteria for

supplements. A few suggestions:

 

Enzymes must be whole food, and be completely available for your cells to use.

The word is bioavailable.

 

Minerals must be chelated, and be one of the 20 or so proven beneficial to

humans. No 88-way colloidal toddies.

 

Colon cleanses can't have corrosives like Cascara sagrada. Gentle, effective

whole herbs only.

 

Vitamins must be organic and whole food. No synthetics, like ascorbic acid.

Green foods.

 

Flora must be stable blends. No soil based organisms or single strains.

 

Water should have some minerals - either spring, or top of the line filters. No

distilled or reverse osmosis.

 

Antioxidants should be able to reduce all free radicals in your blood after 30

minutes.

 

EFAs should he high-end blends. Refrigerated after opening.

 

Figure out how to streamline your supplement intake. You don't need a

wheelbarrowload every day. Just a few high end items. If you can replace six

bottles with one that does the same thing, do it. Less is more. Diet is more

important than supplementation. Eat all the time from the first 2 categories of

the New West Diet. Never be hungry or let the body feel nutrient-deprived,

especially if you're overweight.

 

9. Sunshine

 

It's located outdoors. Get some.

So that's the basic program. It's really very simple once you realize that

you're only going to be putting stuff in your mouth that will do one of two

things:

 

cleanse

 

nourish

 

Couldn't be simpler. No matter what ideas you may have or what physical

condition you're trying to solve, or what you've been through, if some of your

cells are still alive, this is the basic program, the starting line for

everyone.

 

After you've addressed these 8 areas religiously for 60 days and you still have

some problems that don't seem to be going away, that may be the time to get

advice on refining your program a little. But until you've done 60 days of this

basic program, you're wasting your time even asking for advice. Because believe

me, they'll give it to you.

 

So give yourself one last break. Whatever you need to do to get the self

confidence to win this battle, do it. If this is the hardest thing you've ever

had to do, seems like life's been pretty easy so far.

 

Quoting Henry Ford again, whether you think you can or whether you think you

can't, you're right.
