Guest guest
First of all, my apologies to those of you who belong to various alternative health/ fibro/ cfs forums; you'll find that I have posted this message in several places. This is because I'm at the point where I need to get as much information as I can, quickly! I'll try to make this as abbreviated as possible. 16 years ago, while living in Spain, I came down with typhoid fever, and subsequently, cytomegalovirus. I was on antibiotics for several months, lost a lot of weight, but slowly regained my health, largely thanks to an old copy of an Adelle Davis book on nutrition and supplements. 2 years later, we moved to the States, where I managed to go through respiratory therapy school, have a baby, and do my hospital rotations (I say " managed " because I don't think I was doing that well, even then). I worked in hospitals over the next few years, slowly accumulating fibro signs and symptoms without realizing it. When we moved from Florida to a little town in New Hampshire, I joined the local volunteer Fire Dept., and worked my way up to EMT- Intermediate and Level 1-A firefighter. I loved the work, but I noticed after awhile that having my radio go off in the middle of the night when I was on duty, not being able to sleep sometimes after a call, and breathing noxious fumes from car and structure fires ( we didn't always wear our air tanks) appeared to be affecting me. Sadly, it reached the point where I couldn't even support the weight of my fire gear, think clearly enough to make medical decisions, or even drive; and most importantly, it was affecting my home life with my husband and daughter. I finally found a well-respected rheumatologist, who after ten minutes with me, informed me that I had " textbook " fibromyalgia, gave me several scrips for my symptoms, and sent me home, after telling me I probably couldn't have chosen worse professions, in view of my condition. We have recently moved back to our little village in Spain, and I was doing quite well, but lately I've started having a relapse that seems to be getting progressively worse: I hurt everywhere, have little muscle strength, pathetic endurance, brain fog and short-term memory loss. I did run out of my supplements, but hopefully more will be arriving shortly ( I have to order them from the U.S.). Another reason I may be relapsing is that everything outside is flowering at the moment, and while it's beautiful to look at, it's wreaking havoc on my allergies- I have a Hepa filter on in the house as much as possible. I take the following: PS for brain fog and memory loss Enzymes for food allergies Seacure for leaky gut Hyaluronic acid for vision problems DIM for estrogen balance Black cohosh or Olivia's Secret for perimenopausal symptoms B-complex vitamins Potassium for adrenal support Magnesium and malic acid for muscle pain For some reason, when I have tried the following, I seem to get worse instead of better: MSM DHEA Glandulars Transfer factor Quercetin (not sure) I was also treated by an allergist for candidiasis with Diflucan a couple of times in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get through this relapse? Thanks for your time, and I promise to make future posts much shorter, Elizabeth Holtermann
Guest guest
Hello, it sounds like you have candida. Candida can go all over the body and cause many mysterious symptoms. Diflucan merely causes the candida to become resistant and mutate into a more severe form. Many autoimmune illnesses are caused by fungi. People have been successful with the anticandida diet along with rotating natural antifungals in five day periods so the candida can't get used to one thing. It is a long process but there are success stories. There are health boards and other lists on that talk more about this. Many people there would suggest liver flushes as well, plus yogurt. You mentioned many supplements, but how is your diet? Try to notice if your symptoms get worse with sugar, yeast, msg, and simple carb sonsumption. You can email me off list if you want. kellykebby Kelly chazepping <chazepping wrote: First of all, my apologies to those of you who belong to various alternative health/ fibro/ cfs forums; you'll find that I have posted this message in several places.
