Does anyone know anything about the allergy drug Claritin? I know it's suppose to be safe now that it's over the counter, but my youngest son was just put on it for allergies and I thought maybe someone could tell me if it's ok or not. Thanks, Tonja *~Tonja~*

Happy Easter Tonja!

I wouldn't use an anti-allergy medication on a young child myself but if its the only answer you have then it may not hurt - it certainly won't get to the cause of the problem but it may make things comfortable while you wait for that solution?

Hi. I'm ...geminiwalker, new here. Be careful with Claritin.

Not everyone has the same reaction, but both my wife and I

got very severe backaches from taking Claritin. It took me

awhile to figure out where the back pain was coming from,

but it was so bad I would wake up at night in tears. I had to

figure out what I was doing or eating differently that might

have caused such a reaction. The only thing I could think of

was the Claritin, which had been scripted by my doctor at

the time.

I looked it up on the web site, and though it was not listed

on the package, back ache IS one of the potential side

effects.

Thanks for letting me know, doc!

When I stopped taking it, the backache went away.
