(AP) — Despite questions about its validity, a new study on childhood cancer rates in the areas around nuclear power facilities is fueling opponents of a bid to extend the license of the aging Oyster Creek plant. In an article published last week in the peer-reviewed International Journal of Health Services, a researcher claims to have found a correlation between radiation in the areas surrounding nuclear power plants and childhood cancer rates.
