Guest guest
Duncan, That is exactly right. I'm a diabetic and limit my bananas. They are just a handy way to get some potassium when I take a diuretic for my edema. Plenty of wonderful veggies that are high in it, such as broccoli. My dietician told me if I must have potatoes, to use the small red potatoes with the thin skin, as they had far less starch in them than other potatoes, so that's basically the only potato I generally eat. Lor All vegetables contain potassium but few contain as many carbs as a banana. The hype article fails to mention that there are dozens of better food choices, and a lot of articles tell the diabetics to eat them! May as well eat a baked potato.
