Question about probiotic acidophilus

Hope someone can answer my question. I bought my husband some probiotic

acidophilus in a small gel type capsule. He usually takes Mylanta or

Pepto for upset stomach. (not good, I know)He has trouble swallowing

any kind of pills. What I need to know is if I puncture the gelcap and

put the oil in his food would it work as well. Anyone? Thanks, Barb
