Love Prevails World Peace Experiment

The

inspiration for the Only Love Prevails World Peace Experiment began in November

of 1997 during one of our daily Course in Miracles meditations. Victor and I had just read a passage in The

Course that stated that evil is an illusion, a perception that we've created as

reality. It went on to state that love is the only thing that is REAL.

After

meditating on this idea, I began exploring with Victor how easy it would be to

create world peace if enough people (critical mass -- whatever that number was)

would change their perception about the existence of evil to a belief that

there truly was only love.

" If

we could get critical mass to change their perception, " I said, " we could

have world peace in an instant! "

" Okay, "

said Victor, " but how do we do that? "

" I

don't know, " I responded, " but I'm sure if we are open, Spirit will show

us how it could be done. "

Two

days later, the a specific phrase came through my meditation: " ONLY LOVE

PREVAILS. " I knew these were not my words -- the word " prevails "

was not a word I ever used. I wrote

down the phrase.

In the

meantime, Victor was inspired to research how many people does it take to reach

critical mass. He went to the library

and checked out numerous books on quantum physics and wave mechanics. After studying for about a week, he came up

with the number 80,000. He arrived at

this number with the following thought process:

Physicists tell us that according to the

laws of wave mechanics, the intensity

of any kind of waves that are in phase with each other is the square of the sum

of the waves. In other words, two waves added together are four times as

intense as one wave, ten waves are one hundred times as intense, etc.

Since thought is an energy, and all energy

occurs as waves – we believe that 80,000 people all thinking the same thing

together are as powerful, in terms of creating the reality that we all share,

as the random chaotic thought of the 6.4 billion people (80,000 times 80,000)

that will soon inhabit the planet.

Therefore, 80,000 people who believe that

only love prevails, will be enough to change the planetary reality.

As

Victor was doing his research, I began to get glimpses of the process that

could help shift our consciousness. One

morning in late November the full picture emerged during meditation as a

two-step process.

Step 1:

Say the words " Only Love Prevails " every time you personally perceive

a negative event occurring. This phrase sends " positive " energy to

the perceived negative event as you stand as an observer in non-judgment. It

also helps shift the perception that for good to exist, evil must also exist

(polarity theory). As your perception shifts, you will perceive less and less

negativity. This process therefore acts as a barometer to measure your own

sense of inner peace. The less negativity you perceive, the less you will find

yourself needing to affirm " Only Love Prevails " .

Step

2: Become aware that the news media has

a profound impact on your perception. Do whatever you need to do to protect

yourself from exposure to " negative " or fear based stories in the

media. This might mean giving up watching or listening to newscasts or reading

newspapers, or it might mean that you filter your exposure to the news media

and become very selective about what you do read or watch or listen to. Just

bringing your awareness to the negativity that permeates the news media will

help shift your consciousness.

The

media feeds us with negative reports of world events and therefore we

personally get pulled into the negative energy. Very seldom does the media

report " positive news " events. If we only had the media as our benchmark

of what was happening on our planet, it would be easy to believe that only evil

exists. The truth is, the reports of so-called negative occurrences that

permeate newscasts are in most cases isolated incidences. Most of what happens

on this planet falls into the " good " news area, but positive news is

rarely reported because it doesn't sell newspapers. We have become conditioned

to want to hear about the horror stories that the media has become so good at

reporting. Many of us have become addicted to it.

We feel

that if enough people (critical mass) stopped exposing themselves to the

" negative energy " generated by the news media and repeated " ONLY

LOVE PREVAILS " whenever exposed to a report of an incident that appeared

to be negative that we could shift the consciousness of the planet to a

perception that ONLY LOVE PREVAILS.

We were

guided to call this the " World Peace Experiment " and to get people to

sign up on the Internet. Victor

designed the page within the Open Heart site and once it was ready, I went to

work searching the web for sites that focused on creating world peace. I started sending emails to the creators of

these sites inviting them to participate.

Within

days we were receiving hundreds of sign ups.

We are

still far from our goal of 80,000. I believe, however, that everything happens

in perfect timing and I trust that Spirit knows what she's doing! If you would like more information and to
