http://www.magnetswork.com/healing.htmGENERAL What is Magnetic Therapy?Magnetic Therapy is used as a complementary treatment to help relieve pain and increase the body's natural healing process. It is widely believed that magnets can improve blood flow. This in turn energizes the muscles and bones and can reduce inflammation and enhancing the body's natural healing process. With the help of magnets, bone fractures can heal quicker. Through calming the nervous system, magnets can also help in pain relief. Magnetic healing has been around for ever, particularly in the Far East. In the last 100 years, Magnet therapy has been down graded in favour of allopathic medicine. But recent scientific studies in America show that magnets work, with the result that magnets for healing are once again becoming widely accepted as a valid complementary healing tool.Disclaimer – No pharmaceutical giant has paid for clinical trials to ‘prove’ magnets work – and why should they. If everyone used magnetic energy to cure their aches and pains, who would buy their pills and creams. There is a time for Neurofem, Aspirin and the rest – but perhaps not every day. Equally there is a place for magnetic energy. We have found is no evidence that magnets don’t work on the human body and a lot anecdotal evidence that they do. Our advice to our customers is ‘Follow your intuition and do what feels right!” The Mini Healing PadThe mini pad is designed to be used with an ordinary sports bandage, corset or any wrap around bandage. Put the belt or strap on as usual, then slide the MHP into position near where the problem is. The bandage should not be too tight; and you should not be able to feel the pad once it is in place. If it is uncomfortable try it is another position in the vicinity of the problem area. The velcro patch on the outside of the pad will hold it in place. The two pads can be placed side by side on the lower back or shoulders. For the elbow or wrist or knee, the pads are best placed one on either side of the joint. The Mini Healing DiskThe Mini Disk is more versatile. It is very light weight and unobtrusive. Once it is on, you wont notice it. If you have a bad neck or problems with balance, try putting a Mini Disk on the back of your neck. You can use ordinary sticky plaster to keep it place. Or you can sew it into your favourite clothing. If a child is using his bathing suit all the time, then pop one into the lining of the waist band at the middle of the back, and s/he will benefit from the magnets without having to do anything. The waist band of a much used pair of trousers is a good place to try.Warning – Magnets have a North and a South Pole. The consensus is that the North pole should be placed against the body. The South is complementary and could stimulate a tumour, as opposed to the North side that has the opposite effect. Spinning magnetic instruments, such as the Magnetech or Magnassage, effectively have no pole and are equally safe to use on tumours. How Long should the Mini Pad or Disk be used ?The Mini Pad can be used for as long as you like. Take it off when you take off the belt or strap that is holding it in place. When will I see the results? If the healing process is already under way, the Mini Pad could be the catalyst for a quick result. One to two weeks is a more reasonable time frame. After that your condition will stabilize. If you have a disease like arthritis or osteoporosis, magnets wont make it go away. But they could make it a little easier to live with.It also must be said that magnets don't work every time. It's like modern cancer treatments. They work some of the time. But an awful lot of the time they don't work. That is the way of life - sometimes you are is not going to get physically better in this life whatever you do. How do I keep them clean? You can put the Mini Pads in the washing machine in a cool wash. Neo magnets don't rust. FEED BACK"A week after my accident, my broken shoulder blade had not knit. My doctor told me that I may need an operation to put it back together. I started using the Mini Healing pads soon after - the velcro on the back made it easy to stick them on the inside of my cardigan. Two weeks later, I received the good news that my shoulder blade was back together again and that I would not need an operation. Maybe it would have happened by itself; but I feel that the Magnet Pads could have made the difference." Mrs A D Clarke (age 81) "My elbow swelled up as a result of too much tennis. The doctor gave me some pills and said 'if it doesn't come down in two weeks, we will book you in for an operation'. The thought of an operation concentrated the mind wonderfully. I came home put my arm in a sling to rest. wrapped my elbow in a light crepe bandage, and slipped in two magnetic pads on either side of the elbow. A 5 days later the elbow was looking better and back to normal within 14 days. I didn't have to go back to the doctor, thank goodness. " The Editor's true story. "I fractured a small bone in my right forearm. The hospital put in a tight bandage and sent me away. After a day or two, I supplemented that with a wrist brace and inserted two magnetic pads between the hospital bandage and the brace. Two weeks later I was back to normal with full use of my hand and forearm." Mrs M Mattenet (Age 40 ish) In most cases, it takes some 14 days to see the results of the magnets. These stories may be Coincidence. But if you have read the Celestine Prophecy, you will know that Coincidences tend to happen when they are meant to happen. TECHNICAL How to measure the strength of a magnet The strength of a magnet is measured in GAUSS, the unit of magnetic induction. The total strength of a magnet depends both on the type of magnetic material and the size. Surface area is important. A very powerful magnet with a tiny surface may not have the same affect as a magnet covering a larger area. But if the magnets are of comparable size, the neo magnet with the higher gauss is bound to have more impact.A smaller neo magnet will still be effective, as its greater power enables it to penetrate further into the body tissue than the lower powered ferrous magnet. Ferrous vs Neodymium MagnetsNeo magnets are relatively new and can have two to three times the gauss of a traditional Ferrous magnet. If you get two similar size magnets set up to attract each other, you can feel the difference easily. The Neo magnets have a much greater pull. Neo magnets are lighter than their ferrous equivalents, which cut down delivery costs, an important part of the overall cost. The downside of having a bigger pull, is that the Neo magnets can be more difficult to sew into a healing pad, as they try and stick to the metal sewing machine. Why Neo Magnets in HealingWhen we designed the Mini Healing Pad, we decided to use the latest technology – ie Neo magnets – for a number of reasons :-1] Neo magnets are lighter, thinner and less obtrusive than traditional magnets.2] You can put them through the washing machine.3] Neo magnets are much stronger than their equivalent size ferrous magnet and give much greater penetration.4] We have sourced the Neo magnets direct from the Far East at a good price that means that we can supply the Mini Healing Pads and disks, at a price that is affordable by everyone. CAUTION & DISCLAIMERPacemakers and MagnetsWe recommend that you consult your doctor before using the Mini Healing Pad (MHP), if you use a heart Pacemaker or other metallic implant. There shouldn’t be a problem, if the MHP is used on the extremities – ie arm or leg - or even the lower back or the shoulders or back of the neck.DisclaimerMagnets are complementary. They work well with allopathic, herbal or homeopathic healing systems. Nevertheless, it is important to check with your doctor if you are under a treatment programme. When you use your Mini Healing Pad, you accept that MHSL, the company behind the Mini Healing Pad, cannot be held responsible if the results are not as you hoped. PERSONALA Personal Note from Peter Heskett, MagnetsWork FounderI first started using magnets in the early 1990s. Before then I had tried Healing and Massage. I trained as a Healing with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers. Spiritual Healing is the West’s answer to Reiki. In its simplest form, it is the transference of energy from one person to another. The healer aims to act as a channel for the Universal Energy or Heaven’s Force; but there was always an element of personal earth or magnetic energy involved.I have felt for some time that there was much in common between the earth energy generated in healing and magnetic energy. But for the first you need a healer; and with healing, you get that good energy for relatively short periods, only now and then. In contrast, you can use magnetic healing pads by yourself, as much as you want.Since becoming interested in magnets, I have used all sorts of instruments from the Magnetech – a £200 healing instrument – to magnetic pads, such as now offered here. I have also seen the most expensive and elaborate magnetic shoulder pads and mattresses, which may well work, but at a price. Magnetic energy should not be expensive, and if it is someone is profiteering. In contrast the Mini Healing Pads or Disks cost about the same as a couple of boxes of Neurofem. They last for ever, in contrast with pills and oils that you have to keep on buying. The objective of the MagnetsWork site is to demystify magnets and to make them available at a reasonable price. So they can be given as presents or bought for fun, and be used by everyone! Why are there so many Sceptics? This has puzzled me for a while, and here are two answers:-1] the sceptics view - I don't see the results and I don't like being tricked or conned (Curtesy of a University trained Catholic, Eduardo Mattenet). The supporter's answer to this is that there are results if you look for them. If it was a con, why are universities across the world investing time in proving their effectiveness. But words of course wont sway a confirmed sceptic.2] My personal view is that our brain has two main aspects – the left / rational side and the right / intuitional side. Men are normally more left brained, Women are more right brained. For many years, men and women had religious / spiritual activity to help keep their intuition active. In days gone by, we were closer to nature, which would also have helped. But with the institutionalisation of religion and the mechanisation of our lives, man has had his feet kept firmly on the ground and has had little space for right brain activity. It is easier for them to believe that if something cannot be explained and proved, then it cannot be real or true. In general, we are much happier with certainties. If that is you, then it is hard not to be sceptical. If however you believe in the miracles of nature, then follow your intuition and give magnets a chance. Magnets work almost imperceptibly – It is difficult to devise a scientific study to prove they work; and the people who normally pay for these studies – the big corporations – certainly are not interested in funding them. There are some things that go beyond laboratory testing. The tides in the sea go in and out, driven by the magnetic force from the moon. Magnetic energy affects the flow of water in the sea – why shouldn’t it affect the flow of our blood, which is made up substantially of water? In fact new photographic evidence shows that magnets have a similar effect on the blood as they do on fuel. When magnetic energy is applied, the red corpuscles de-cluster and flow more freely!Magnetic treatments have been main stream in the Far East for centuries. Who is to say they are wrong and that we in the West are right, with our relatively new alopathic treatments. Solid state magnetic energy is non intrusive. There are no known unpleasant side effects. Magnets are a perfect complementary treatment; because they cannot interfere with any medicines you are taking. OTHER STUDIESThis may not be very scientific. But what scientific studies have been made to confirm that Western science has all the answers?Take a look at the frog levitated by magnet power in the experiment at the University of Nijmegan. There is a diamagnetic quality in water and indeed in all liquids, that is not fully understood by mainstream western science. Check out WonderMagnet for more experiments that you can do yourself. If you really believe that Western science and medicine has all the answers, then you have every reason to be sceptical. Otherwise, it will be a big "What if" if you don't give Magnets a chance.
