Guest guest
Dear Bedi ji, Not so long back I read an article by a leading American child doctor that if American children were allowed to play in the grass and get dirty as is wont for children then America would have healthier children. This doctor has a best selling book on child care to his credit. We have forgotten that we are children of Planet Earth and not aliens. If nature has given birth to the intricate creation called man then certainly it has also ensured that we stay healthy. Certainly we were not born to be the pill guzzling population that we are today. Till the other day our villages were full of "elderly children", 80+ people who enjoyed themselves and were more active than present 40 year olds. My grandfather lived upto 99 and was very active till the age of 98. The only thing that perhaps separated me from him was that he hated medicines and preferred to tackle illness by a change of diet when ill. The solution is of course not so simplistic. A lot of things, including our overstressed lifestyles have to change if we are to regain our health. We have the habit of acting only after extensive damage is caused. In the health field also the same mindset works.
