Guest guest
Does anyone know anything about using Red Yeast Rice for cholesterol? And this may sound dumb but would it cause more yeast in the body? My husband has high cholesterol and has had too much yeast too. Thanks, Allie
Guest guest
I take Red Rice Yeast and have been for a few years now. I was prescribed Lipitor some years back and it gave me leg cramps, which is a bad side effect because of the probability of liver damage. I also take non-flush niacin. This seems to keep my cholesterol in check. My doctor will not admit that this may be helpful to me. He just writes on my chart that I am controlling it with my diet. Guest guest
My father was using Red Yeast Rice for a while to reduce his cholesterol. It worked well. However, the Dr notice an elavation in his liver enzymes. After some research, I found out that the mevinolin in Red Yeast Rice has been known to damage the liver. So I searched for another natural way for him to lower his cholesterol beacuse he has such bad reactions to the statins. I found that a great natural product backed by clinical studies showing that phytopeptides with bound phospholipids and N-acetylcysteine helped regulate cholesterol lelevels. My father has been on this product for 3 months and has reduced is cholesterol by 50%. So I would say, be careful in taking Red Yeast Rice. Make sure your doctor monitors your husbands liver function. Red Yeast Rice will not increase candidia in your husbands system. Is your husband taking a good pre and probiotic supplement?
