Guest guest
Gary - Kuan Hin's book " Chinese massage and acupressure " shows some acupoints for weaning. He writes: Patients with a strong Yin-share, who have low blood pressure, like warm food and beverages and feel cold esaily, have real problems to quit smoking. Unconsciously they look for the Yang element fire and his activating heat in a cigarette. I's in German ( " Chinesische Massage und Akupressur " ), and I don't know about an English edition. Henry C. Lu's book " Chinese system of food cures " describes a pretty radical procedure,-) You may ask Google and/or Amazon for more resources. Guest guest
Oh, onion sister!! I love you!! I am an absolute onion freak! I easily go through 2 onions per day - raw!! I love them!! Fortunately, my husband doesn't mind. Besides, he eats enough garlic to choke a horse - literally! A full bulb a day! We're really the stinky family! LOL! I was reading once that cravings were caused because the item being craved was actually being released back into the bloodstream, kinda like a detox. This reminds you of it, and then you want to have more. Don't know if this makes sense. I'll pass along the web site if I can find it again. Baked beans do sound good!! yum! Kelli Candace Podratz [CandaceAndBrock] Thursday, June 17, 2004 2:06 PMherbal remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - Cravings I've been having weird out of control cravings lately. Every night at around 11pm I crave baked beans like you would not believe. If I ignore it I can't sleep! All day every day lately I crave onions. I put onions in everything I cook. It's probably driving DH nutty by now. I know some one said if you crave something your body is lacking it but can my body really need this much onions and baked beans? I walk around smelling like onions all day!
Guest guest
I could never stand onions before, now I crave them all the time. I think the difference is the KIND I buy now. I used to get the really big ones (when I RARELY got onions) and now I get really small ones that have quite the kick to them. I'm starting to crave garlic, too, wonder if it's from those hot little onions. I suppose there are worse things I could crave, just tired of smelling all the time. Guest guest
Isn't Parsley supposed to help alleviate the smell of garlic and onion? Maybe adding some fresh parsley to your onion and garlic stuffs?? Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Guest guest
Well, you'll get used to the smell, and really, garlic and onions are SO VERY healthy for you! Really! I'm not just saying that because I'm trying to justify my constant odor! LOL! Guest guest
I think I'm just a very smelly person; taking IC#1 makes me smell like garlic....of course I am taking enough to regulate an elephant....... Candace P.S. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definately have to get some parsley while I"m on the cleanse in case I ever plan to leave the house. : D - Caroline herbal remedies Thursday, June 17, 2004 7:15 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Cravings Isn't Parsley supposed to help alleviate the smell of garlic and onion? Guest guest
My husband does chew a bit of fresh parsley or spearmint after his garlic and it does help tremendously. Unfortunately, when you're sweating it from your pores there's not much the parseley can do! LOL! Guest guest
Hi Carla, Have you tried Weight Watchers? I am on WW and have lost 50 pounds so far. It is by far the best program and better than fasting or doctor prescribed speed. WW has a magazine that you can pick up at any store and they have testimonials where people have got off diabeties medication and are ok now. I really recommend it. It is not a fast weight loss system but you can loose from .5 to 2 pounds a week. It has taken me a year to loose these 50 pounds. I eat mostly fruits and veggies with a little meat, but you can basically eat what ever you want as long as you follow the 8 healthy guidelines and stay within your calorie/point range. If you dont' want to go to meetings you can sign up for WW on-line and it is only about 12 a month and it gives you the plan and on-line food journal ect...you also have access to the message boards and that is a big help. Even if you don't join WW on-line you can still use the message board and read all the articles and helps on the site but you will not get the instructions to the plan. Guest guest
You may wish to try adding more animal protein to your diet. If you do not have enough protein in your diet, your sugar mechanism goes out of whack and that will cause sugar cravings. Also be sure you are drinking a lot of water (like a quart per 50 pounds plus a quart a day).
