Guest guest
PBS is much too liberal and needs to be more balanced. Have not watched nor supported this ultraliberal organization for years. Won't even turn it on. NO thanks!!! lynn --- activist_zz <activist_zz wrote: > Please note there are TWO fast action pages in this > alert > > (1) Yesterday 16 Senators demanded that Public > Broadcasting > Chairman Kenneth Tomlinson resign. Guest guest
In fact, the opposite is true. But whatever your fantasies about PBS, you ought to ask yourself the following question. Do you believe that conservatives are best able to identify conservatives in media, or elsewhere? I strongly suspect you take it for granted, that conservatives are best able to tell us which people in media or anywhere else, are conservatives, and which people are not conservatives. Assuminig the foregoing, isn't it obvious that liberals are best able to identify liberals, in media and anywhere else? Would you like it if I decided "for you" which people are conservative and which are liberal? Of course you wouldn't. You want to tell me which people are conservative, because you're a conservative and are obviously able to identify your type. The same is true of liberals. We liberals know who is, and who isn't, a liberal. Accordingly, and being a liberal, I can tell you, in no uncertain terms, that PBS and, in fact, all other media, including even C-span, are not liberal. Far from it. If you allow "us" liberals to define who we are, and to bring our own representatives to make our case, to media, we'll all be a lot better off, and lot more sober than we are . As things are, conservatives are deciding who the liberals are, and conservatives are hiring and placing, what they believe are, liberals, in media. There are no liberals in media; there are simply some conservatives in media, that are more liberal than other conservatives.. You can have a group of conservatives, that are more liberal than another group of conservatives, and still not have a single liberal in mass media. Public TV and radio, and stations like C-span, will occasionaly have a liberal that "appears" in media, but they also "disapper" just as quickly. But these appearing and disappearing liberals, don't "control" public media, they simply appear and disappear. The people that control public television are not liberals. If you let us liberals determine which people among the intelligentsia are liberals, and allow us to bring our own representatives to media, you'll have the shock of your life. Allen Colmes is not a liberal. Bill Maher is not a liberal. How do I know he's not a liberal; because he still has a job, somewhere, in media. Bill Maher and Allen Colmes are moderates (at best); and they are the people "you think" are liberals. JP - lynn sheer Thursday, June 23, 2005 7:02 AM Re: Don't Let Them PLUCK Big Bird - WHY NOT??? Guest guest
I'm curious to know if you also believe that FOX is too conservative? I'll bet my bottom dollar, you don't.
