This basic science research investigating the pathology ofvaccine reactions is not being conducted by US government health agencies orUS pharmaceutical companies or, if it is, it is not being released to thepublic. The lack of government-sponsored research into genetic and otherbiological high risk factors for responding adversely to vaccination thatcould lead to screening techniques reflects a callous disregard forindividual human life. One-size-fits-all vaccine policies target thegenetically and biologically vulnerable and that is an immoral policy thatcannot be defended by any government in the world.Cesk Pediatr. 1993 Jan;48(1):9-12.Immunologic findings in children with abnormal reactions after vaccination[Article in Czech]Dankova E, Kasal P, Bergmannova V, Stehlikova J, Domorazkova E.Detska klinika, Fakultni nemocnice v Motole, Praha.In a group of 89 children with abnormal reactions after administration ofthe mixed vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough, after themixed vaccine against diphtheria and tetanus, the live measles vaccine andoral poliovaccine, a detailed analysis was made of the case-history, andbasic parameters of cellular and humoral immunity were examined. In thesechildren the intensity of post-vaccination reactions was beyond the range ofaccepted criteria of mild and medium reactions or complications. In 17.3% ofthe children with an abnormal reaction after the mixed vaccine againstdiphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough a reduced IgA level was proved, whilein the control group a reduced level was found only in 3.3%. 50% of thechildren who developed an abnormal reaction after the oral poliovaccine andthe mixed vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough and at thesame time some relative suffered from clinical signs of atopia, a reducednumber of E rosettes of lymphocytes was recorded. 80% of the children whodeveloped an abnormal reaction after the measles vaccine and some relativesuffered from atopic disease, had low titres of specific antibodies againsttetanic toxoid. Evidence was provided that children with certain preciselydefined abnormal reactions after vaccination suffered significantly morefrequently from reduced immune reactivity than children examined because ofa suspected immunity defect.
