So is there a divider between their lungs and the rest of their body BEFORE they inflate their lungs???

More detailed explaination of the exploding toads

This is better explained and it's now official the holes in their abdomen cause the toads to explode their entrails as a defence mechanism. The crows in German knew how to kill them. The best way is to kill the crows that knew how to kill the toads so the knowledge could not be spread into a worldwide toad extinction.
