Looks like the timing of the report by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20050502.wxfood02/BNStory/National/ is even more tightly configured than I thought. The study was done last fall---but the report is being released ONE DAY BEFORE THE TESTIMONIES BEFORE THE HEALTH COMMITTEE ARE DUE TO BEGIN!!!!!!!!!! Coincidence?

There is testimony before the Health Committee starting as of tomorrow. We have our people there and as far as I am concerned the biggest threat to C 420 is the Canadian Health Food Association which appears to have been co opted by the biggest players in our industry and the Pharma cartel. Our people will be well armed to deal with this but the consumer must demand C420 be passed without amendment. Some of the committee members are under the illusion that we don't need vitamins since we get them from the diet - same old MD mantra. The NDP seem to be bad for this, along with some other members of the committee. Their federal health critic Jean Crowder - as nice as she is - needs an education. Reminds me of Dennis Cocke, when as Barrett's health minister, said British Columbians were taking too many vitamins. And who but the bureacrats and their pharmacist friends told him that.
