THIS WILL WORK!!!!! It will not take long once enough people get involved. It can be enhanced by picketing Exxon (the double cross company_ and Mobile. They will start complaining almost immediately.

I know of nothing else that is practical! Please forward to everyone you know. I don't care if I get it back from a dozen sources.

Gas War, Let's Get Serious !!!!

FW: GAS WAR - email that just might work

This was sent by my brother-in-law, a retired Coke executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. It is worth you consideration. Coleman

Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.

Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE

than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.09 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost! of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50- $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace....not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How?

Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and ! pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am ... so trust me on this one.)

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.

I don't think this will work. If people stopped using gas there might be some impact, but they are just suggesting people not purchase gas on a certain day. They will still be using it that day. They will either go the day before or the day after.

This is a hoax and goes around the internet every so often. If you want to buy your gas the day before or the day after go right ahead, but it will not make a bit of difference.

I for one usually only buy gas about once every 2-3 weeks, so my car will not be needing any on that day probabally anyway, but it might be a good day to fill up because at least we should not have to wait in line.

Now this is what I do anyway as our RaceTrack gas from a small supplier is cheaper anyway.

Cindy, The item immediately below was in the Spokesman Review newspaper a couple of days ago.

Exxon Mobil CEO gets $38 million package

Buoyed by high oil prices, Exxon Mobil Corp. had a record-breakingyear in 2004 and chairman and chief executive Lee R. Raymond shared in the company's success with a $38 million compensation package, the largest U.S. oil company said Wednesday.

Exxon said that Raymond, 66, was paid$7.5 million in salary and bonus plus restricted stock worth $28 million and nearly $2.6 million more in other compensation and incentives.

That was ,an increase from Raymond's 2003 package worth about $27.9 million, including $6.8 million in salary and bonus and $17.9 million in restricted stock.

You are right about just not buying gas for one day not working but read the lower post from Kathy again. It says to stop buying Mobil and Exxon all together for however long it takes for them to lower prices. That might work if enough people quit Mobil and Exxon altogether. I use Connoco and it is not purchased from the Arabs. At present I have to pay $2.33 per gallon for regular.

Harvey.

Re: Gas War, Let's Get Serious !!!!

You guessed right.

I guess the best thing for people to do when they post something very similar to a hoax that circulates the internet evey few months is for them to state up front in bold letters that this is not the regular hoax and to please go ahead and read it.Reg Kreil <regkreil wrote:

I guess you didn't really read it through carefully before you replied. he is suggesting completely stopping the purchase of fuel fromn Exxon all the time not just on one day or week but for good!

Now this is what I do anyway as our RaceTrack gas from a small supplier is cheaper anyway.

Just you guys wait a bit, you have it pretty good yet! Since we are buying

it by the litre we don,t really know what the cost is until we step back and

do some elementary math.

Now lets see a U.S.Gallon is about four liters and we pay (up here in

Alberta where there is supposedly a very large quantity of oil) We pay

anywheres from 87.9 cents a litre to 99.9 farther north. This is regular fuel

now some stations don't even sell premium anymore.

Now multiply that by four and Voila we are right now paying 3.50 to 4.00 a

gallon.

Do you think SUVs will sell anymore up here? How about filling up your

motorhome?

I have to drive a minivan just to haul my electric wheelchair around and it

now costs me 75.00 for a fill up,

and no I don't go any farther on a tank of Gas, The days of buying premium

are now way behind me.

I just know that other countrys are even higher.
