Japan is not allowing any GM-tainted food into the country, and Sino Chemicals in Japan is where the pharmaceutically pure amino acids from Non-GM soy are being refined. GM soy would be a legitimate macro-scale concern, but when you separate the components into their elemental forms such a concern would disappear. What I mean is the bad DNA, phytic acids and the thyroid-suppressing qualities etc. of either GM or non-GM soy are not a factor once the components we need have been taken out and purified enough.
