This is about an innocent woman being executed in front of the whole world--denied not only her life--but the ability to bring her murderers (and it reaches far beyond than just Michael Schiavo)to justice. However, before I went to Europe I was all for keeping her alive. I went to a convalescent hospital in Barcelona and did Reiki and Healing Touch on a woman that had several strokes and is unable to speak or move and has been this way for over 2 years. Is this a way of life that you want for yourself? Total helplessness? This is life today is keeping people alive on life support. What happened before when we did not have the technology to keep people alive. I am not in agreement in withholding water from her though. I think the way they are letting her die is barbaric. My other premise is why her husband just not release her to the care of her parents. I am also sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes that we will never know. This is one situation where people would be best advised to have a living will prepared. I am not arguing with you, just stating opinions and even I cannot make up my mind. The natural inclination of the body to die when it is the state that Terri's body is in, should be kept in mind here. Terry Schiavo would die, were it not for the machinery of modern medicine, which is able to keep her alive, artificially. Terry would not be executed, she would be allowed to die, as she would if we kept all the tubes and mechanical gizmos away from her. It took her two weeks to die, but she died nevertheless. I don't know the precise medical facts in this case, but I assume she had to receive nourishment artificially. Fasting doctors will tell you, that a person in fairly good health, can live for a month without food, provided they receive water. Terri was hardly in good health. There are different ways that this can be looked at, but whatever the medical situation, there was certainly no good reason for the U. S. Congress to get involved in this tragedy, and all the courts, which were all predominantly conservative courts, that ruled on her fate, decided to remove life support. Sadly Michael will most likely get away with whatever he did to her to cause this. For those of us with disabilities and poor health, this is indeed scarey. I am thankful when I can find a Christian/Catholic physician as I know that at least I stand a chance of not being euthanized or outright murdered. It would solve the social security problem wouldn't it? What was also strange in the order to put her down is that they forbade even feeding and drinking by mouth What I also found revealing --in one of the recent appeals the one in front of the three judges who voted 2/1 to kill her--- was that the one judge who said to re-insert the tube used the reasoning that since she was going to die anyway why not put the tube back in. She was never offered rehabilitation, never allowed the slightest bit of pleasure like having her curtains open to see the sunlight, not allowed any dental care at all, not allowed to eat or drink anything (even though she could eat jello etc. as some of the nurses testified) She was debased as much as Michael Schiavo could debase her and kept as incapacitated as he could make her. And even the autopsy was not done by people that were not connected to him. That is so wrong. Didn't they find the broken bones etc? There were scans of them and other doctors testified to them. Guest guest Posted April 5, 2005 Report Share Posted April 5, 2005 Ive got a better way to solve social security problem and the national debt... 1. make all the members of congress and the house and the president etc work for minimum wage, revoke their perks, take away their jets and stop giving them health care. stop providing them with secret service for life... let them deal with OUR reality 2... stop sending our tax dollars to other countries to fix their problems and divvy that up amonst people in OUR country who need help and stop starting wars for an excuse to be there in the first place 3...legalize marijuana and start charging tax on that like they do alcohol. stop putting those people who want to use it or need it for medicinal reasons in prison, and release the ones that are already there. thus reducing the cost of prisons, the cost of law inforcement, and put those people back into the work force to pay taxes. 4...make it against the law for there to be such a difference in wages between the ceos and the blue collar workers. it is sinfull that the people who actually do the work cant afford health care . 5. make it against the law to have more than 2 kids. enforce zero population growth. its pretty damn presumptuous for people to think they have a right to just keep having kids and expecting the rest of us to educate them and then support them when they are old. thats just a few of my ideas. - Claudia Monday, April 04, 2005 9:57 AM Re: Reality Disconnect Hi Lynn, >It would solve the social security problem wouldn't it?
