Yes, we have an eliptical machine. I should say " had " as its broken

after 3 years of extensive use. I love it and miss it. Was especially

great for my housemate who has knee problems - was able to get a great

workout without straining his knees. You can go much more expensive,

and perhaps it would last longer, but we paid $180 for ours, and it got

at least an hour of use a day for three years - sometimes a couple

hours. We're trying to decide whether its fixable at this point, or to

replace it. In the meantime I've gotten started with rebounding. Its

harder to get a good cardioworkout on the rebounder - takes longer at

any rate for me to get same extent of raising my heartrate, even when I

use handbell weights along with the jumping. However, have found the

rebounding has benefits I haven't experienced with the eliptical - the

lymphatic system is cleared out with rebounding, I can literally feel it

happening, and feel SO much better after jumping, in a way that goes far

beyond the endorphin burst one gets from any form of exercise. I will

be continuing some rebounding even after we replace the eliptical. You

can get the rebounding effects with far less jumping than needed to

match the cardiovascular workout on an eliptical. Even twenty minutes

of gentle jumping has great results in terms of lymphatic system. Its

even used with folks who can't themselves jump at all - just sit on the

rebounder, and have someone else do the jumping. Kind of amazing. I'll

probably start my workout on the rebounder, as a warmup, then move on to

the eliptical for my cardio workout. MUCH prefer the eliptical to any

other exercise machine I've tried, the treadmill

or exercise bikes (both upright and reclining). I am interested in

giving a " gizelle " a try at some point, should be easy on the body like

an eliptical - may even be considered in same category, but different

than most other elipticals I've seen. Haven't had a chance to try one

of those yet. Joy
