Guest guest
Build your sports performance and let the games begin! Body Electric Duncan Crow http://Philaero-Wellness.com In just a few months the seniors' games and the aboriginal games will be on and of course we want our locals to win ALL of the medals. Regardless of the game in question, a substantial increase in your sports performance is possible and, put another way, if you don't take these steps to get it, the advantage will go to those who will. Exercise is hard on the body; there's no reason to allow the damage and reduced performance it can cause. The load created by free radical damage has been implicated in cancer, diabetes, cataracts and many other medical issues. Recent analysis suggests low antioxidant intake is correlated to increased cardiovascular disease risk. As the doctors of the Penticton triathlon pointed out in both of thir presentations here in Duncan, athletes should be taking a lot of antioxidants to reduce damage, and antioxidants may also delay aging. Recent clinical studies have shown that either antioxidant supplementation or a well-balanced diet rich in natural antioxidants allows overloaded triathletes to avoid failure of the antioxidant system. Vitamin A, C, E, beta-carotene, selenium, coQ10 are all valuable; however, the antioxidant that is most often overlooked, glutathione, is probably the most effective and the most important, and it's manufactured by every cell in the body. Glutathione (GSH) increase requires a precursor, or building block, that is plentiful in cold-processed whey. As an Immunotec Research press release points out, during a workout or while bodybuilding, training or competing athletically, the body cannot get rid of free radicals fast enough to prevent fatigue, muscle pains, soreness, muscle damage, stress, etc. While some athletes accept those conditions as an unavoidable part of competition, many others realize that avoiding all those symptoms in part induced by lactic acid buildup in the muscles, will allow them to perform better where every bit of effort really counts. High performance athletes find that that optimal GSH levels gives them greater strength and endurance, decreased recovery time from injuries, less muscle pain, less fatigue and a ‘fitter’ feeling. In a study of the Canadian Olympic cycling team, the athletes reported improved performance by 1-3 percent, or the difference between finishing first and placing sixth. In a double- blind study conducted by McGill University Health Centre and Montreal General Hospital, athletes reported a performance increase of 13 percent. At home, two of my clients, both in their mid 40's, turned in their best times ever in competition by attending to this single easily obtainable performance advantage by simply adding cold- processed Dyna Whey from Superstore to their supplement regime during training and before the race. Here's a tip for older adults and seniors. As we know, muscle mass is difficult to keep on as one ages, and this varies with individual constitution. This tendency to waste away rather than build lean muscle mass occurs because growth hormone release even in response to exercise falls with age. Along with a good nutritional program, growth hormone is absolutely required on every cell that needs repair, growth and cell division. Inducing or maintaining those levels to youthful values with a program of amino acids or growth hormone HGH injections has been a common technique used to increase muscle bulk and strength. Anti-aging doctors and sports nutritionists in North America prefer the reliablility of an amino acids blend called SomaLife gHP (http://tinyurl.com/4ngo7) to give athletes and even people with metabolic syndrome a substantial boost in fitness. Sports nutritionist Brad King in Victoria for example sees tremendous value in combining SomaLife gHP with exercise, in young and old; even Olympic athletes who already produce a lot of HGH get positive results with it. As you know it takes months to build up so it's wise to start on this program right away. Further advantage can be gained over others even though they may also be using these well-known techniques. Drinking ozonated water as an oxygen source during games is practiced by many athletes including some hockey teams as a legal way to increase aerobic energy. Ozone is bubbled into water for 10 minutes or so just before drinking; it has a shelf life of only 40 minutes or so. Prosoteine increases the health of the energy centers of the cells, the mitochondria, and this allows more ATP energy production. Saving the newest for last, the LifeWave™ patch is used by athletes (including many top universities) and individuals who are looking for added energy and stamina. Interestingly, the Lifewave patch isn't a nutritional supplement; it increases energy while you're wearing it by about 30 percent through nanotechnology that is explained on the website (http://lifewave.com/ok/). This new development has not escaped the notice of the US government; according to inventor David Schmidt the product may soon be incorporated into military uniforms to enhance physical performance. These are all legal and safe ways to increase physical prowess by a large margin. Since you're working up your physical prowess already, the only remaining question is " do you want to be in the winners' circle?
