Guest guest
Hello: I am new to this list and this thread saddens me so much, as well as surprises me. I am wondering what the connection is between illegal immigrants and disease??? Perhaps the native Americans feel the same way towards us " real " or " regular " Americans??? I mean how many of them did we kill off by bringing dieases to THEIR country? The only connection I can see between illegal aliens and disease is that, IF they are prone to more diseases than we are, perhaps it is because they have poor diets and NO healthcare---which is exactly what their wages afford them. Lastly, these human beings who are illegal in " our " country, are no more disease prone in their own countries. Perhaps it is life here, and their exposure to all kinds of toxins at the jobs they do, or the social conditions in which they live. I think these illegal aliens deserve our empathy and compassion---does anyone remember the strikes in the 60's and 70s when we couldn't find the fruits and vegetables that they pick, and if we could, we couldnt afford them? The bottom line is--no one really wants to do their jobs at slave wages---and I dont foresee the agribusinesses---or any other businesses, taking less profit to give these people adequate salaries and health care benefits. I am sorry of I have offended anyone, but like I said I am new to this list, and in search of peace through " health and healing " . I just felt the peace leave me after I followed this thread. Guest guest
they dont want to do the jobs at slave wages either. the reason people get pissy about illegal immegrants is because we who were born here were having hard enough time getting a menial job at 5 bucks an hour before the wetbacks and the boat people started streaming in. then the do gooders go and give the newbys houses, and cars and clothes and health care, and those of us who were born here continue to go without. jag part cherokee too. :-P - Iman712 Friday, March 11, 2005 7:15 PM Re: Fw: Medical Alert - Leprosy :-((( Hello:I am new to this list and this thread saddens me somuch, as well as surprises me. Guest guest
I really did not care for the comment about wetbacks. I am a white female with Irish, English, French, Scotch and Indian background. My grandparents were immigrants and I was fortunate to be born in this country. Many people that come here are looking for survival as their own countries probably could not provide adequately. We have wonderful Mexicans here that are family oriented and hard workers. Some of them work harder than our own spoiled natives. When I was in Spain last week, I was really astounded at the health care that they provide for their citizens. They take care of their people and visitors too. I went to a convalescent center as my host has a mother that is there. There was no odor and it was clean and I mean clean, the three women in the room were in beds that were made up with crystal white sheets that were clean and their bedgowns were fresh and clean. So why we don't get more Spanish people here, their country as better benefits then here. They take care of their people. I asked what areas to avoid in Barcelona, there are no bad areas. Wow, Why don't you try Spain? You might even find it better than here. You might consider getting some training to get better work. I did. I am severely hearing impaired and I make a wonderful living as a massage therapist and Aesthetician. I work very hard and I smile all the time. I help people that are in pain and it obviously sounds like you are in great mental pain. Look at your situation and know that you have the power to change it. I rest my case. I am a white female with Irish, English, French, Scotch and Indian background. Im english Irish dutch german and cherokee... so there We have wonderful Mexicans here that are family oriented and hard workers. Some of them work harder than our own spoiled natives. Ive got no problem with immigrants who come here through proper channels, green cards, and social security numbers who pay taxes like everyone else. I do have a problem with the ones that work under the table and never pay taxes yet still expect to get educated and get welfare. When I was in Spain last week, I was really astounded at the health care that they provide for their citizens. They take care of their people and visitors too. sadly just about every civilized country in the world provides better medical care for it's citizens than the United States does. ( which is nothing until you are old and even then pretty pathetic) You might consider getting some training to get better work. I did. I am severely hearing impaired and I make a wonderful living as a massage therapist and Aesthetician. I work very hard and I smile all the time. Im not the one that needs work. I was merely commenting on the fact that there are not enough jobs to go around. the government needs to adress this situation the way they did in the 40s with the WPA and stop throwing our tax dollars away on foreign soil. I help people that are in pain and it obviously sounds like you are in great mental pain. yes Im a little stressed right now because my son has just shown up on my doorstep ( AGAIN) homeless and out of work and needing mental help that he cant get because he is in denial of his problem and there is no provision for this kind of situation in this country. ( its not against the law to be crazy... thats why there are so many homeless wandering the streets talking to themselves) Look at your situation and know that you have the power to change it. do I? perhaps you can tell me then... since you know so much... how to convince my 30 year old son to to go to the free mental health clinic and get on medication again so he can be functional and support himself and stop expecting me to bail him out and take care of him for the rest of his life... knowing that if he isnt able to keep a job and take care of himself that he will wind up homeless, and probably starve to death, because I dont have a place for him nor do I have enough income to support him. sure I can throw him out on the street with nothing but a back pack and his bicycle, to teach him a lesson that I will no longer be his enabler, but I really dont think he is capable of taking care of himself. to my knowledge there is no place anywhere around here that will just take care of someone like that without charging a lot of money to do it, and the cops wont take someone away unless they are an immediate danger to themselves or others. I rest my own case. I rest my case.
