Okay, so now they have come up with a strep virus that adults pass

to their kids that causes dental caries. So, if this is real and

true, than what natural/herbal/remedy can we use to get this stuff

under control???? I really need help on this, as I have two young

ones with dental issues and if this is real, then I want to take care

of it ASAP! I also need what would be safe for babies, young

children and on. Can any one help????

Here is a link to one article on this if you don't mind taking a

look. http://www.mothering.com/10-0-0/html/10-7-0/cavities.shtml

Thanks so much!

If you have a healthy diet and are taking total tonic while breast feeding this (to me) would be a good preventative.... For young ones past that stage - I would suggest TT, echinacea and Tooth & Gum Formula... What kind of problems are they having?

definitely the tooth and gum formula and the total tonic/echinacea... talk with Mary O.

she (if memory serves me) dealt with some major dental problems...using tooth and gum formula (and I don't know what else)...

Could it be a lack of calcium? That's what teeth are built on, aren't they? In that case probably Lemon Egg - it's in the files - would be a good remedy, full of natural calcium, and therefore easily absorbed.

Dear A,

Could be:

1. Acid / Alkaline ratio outa whack.

2. Not enough organic Calcium getting into the body.

3. Not enough organic Magnesium getting into the body.

4. Too much sugar.

5. Too many enzyme inhibitors.

6. Too much commercial meat products.

7. Etc. etc. etc.

More data needed here.

Love,

Doc

Doc,

I have the girls and my self on acidophoilus. My youngest (19mo old)

had been dealing with oral thrush. AND here's a million dollar

question for ya--

Could the oral thrush be a key to all this??? No one, I mean NO one

has been able to answer this one for me. I usually get brushed off

or told " uuuu, don't think so " . You know, the typical md, dental

response to everything. We as just little ole lay people couldn't

know more than them! lol!!!! But, I do wonder if this isn't the

start of the problem.

As for calcium, I wouldn't be surprised if this was an issue, but my

5 yr old had all her soft teeth issues when only breastfeeding--no

solid foods at all. (She has all but 4 of her baby teeth capped!--no

choice, they just crumbled away as they pushed through the gums.)

I know a lack of calcium from me could have been an issue--but it

would have had to have been when I was pg because that is when the

baby teeth are forming. Nothing happened that was unusual during pg

either. (I do not use the medical route for pg or birth--we do it

ourselves.) I was taking a calcium/mag suppliment, though there is

no guarantee that it was working at the time. I didn't even take a

suppliment during my last pg.

We use organic sucanut sugar and/or honey very sparingly. So, though

even a small amount can be an issue, I don't think this is the

problem.

Enzyme inhibitors --well, since 5 yr old has this problem as a

breastfeeding baby, then I don't think this is the issue. She had

not had any foods at all! Only breastmilk.

We do eat meat occasionally, but it is all HOMEGROWN. We are very

picky and eat an organic diet. AND neither girl had had any meats

when this happened with them. This is the LAST food type I allow

(meats) and they have to be older to try them--if at all.

I do not use any processed baby foods either. I nurse them until

they can eat from the table, which is at least 1 year old or older.

Then we start slowly and use only organic foods.

So, there is a bit more data. Any ideas.

(If the research is right, then I need to fight that strep issue, but

with what naturally? AND if it is wrong, then the big question is

why is this happening to these two children and how can we stop it?)

Thanks for all the help.

~Amanda

Dear Amanda,

Hmmmm, I still don't have a handle on this yet.

I don't think the thrush is the cause of the problem, as one has to ask the question, "why do the kids have thrush???". See what I mean.

It doesn't mean that there isn't a relationship though.

I'm still suspicious of the amount of calcium they're getting and in what form. Have you tried the Panther Piss Formula yet??? This is where I'd begin looking along with the Lemon Egg formula. I'd also want to know their entire diet for a week or two to see how that evaluates. This would be paramount.
