Guest guest
I have been a member for a bit just havent posted. i am wondering if you all might be able to give me some advice on how to help my husband out. I got married Friday. My husband was in an accident about a year ago or so and has a slightly herniated disc in he lower back and has to wear a back brace. possibly some other problems in the rest of the back as well. poor thing is in a lot of pain all the time and more so when he has to do something which is all too often. The only thing the doctor gave him was Ultracet which we arent sure what it is for but it doesnt seem to do anyting for him no matter how often he takes it. I am wondering if someone in the group might know something i could do for him to help with the pain. maybe some herb to help with pain and swelling or something. keep in mind i have to watch what we use because of being chemically sensitive and i cant handle rubbing something on him that is too strong perfumed. well thanks in advance. any advice would be greatly apprieciated. take care Sarah
Guest guest
Sarah, my husband has a degenerated disc in his lower back, too. He does not take drugs to alleviate the pain. What has helped him most of all is a few sessions with a physical therapist. The therapist recommended some exercises for the back. He does them faithfully and is managing quite well. Sometimes (when he feels he needs it) I massage his lower back with a salve that I have created with Comfrey, Lobelia, and Scullcap. Guest guest
Dear Sarah, Ultracet is a pain killer. Be careful of pain killers as they damage the kidney pretty bad. In fact I have an article which reads " Pop a Pain Killer, kill your kidney " I have a good remedy which may help your husband. I will send it to you tommorrow as I have to dig it up. You may also want to try " Ganoderma Lucidum Spores " . - totally herbal product which is very effective The right dosage to calculate is the weight of your husband in Kg X 0.08 mg e.g If your husbands weight is 60 Kg then :- 60 * 0.08 mg = 4.80 mg per day divided by 4 times a day = 1.2 mg of Ganoderma Lucidum Spores 4 times a day. Regards Mustafa P.S. If anyone is intrested in reading the article, let me know - " ember_moonlight " <myheartsangel <herbal remedies > Monday, September 01, 2003 12:28 PM [herbal remedies] I wonder if anyone could give me some advice I have been a member for a bit just havent posted. i am wondering if you all might be able to give me some advice on how to help my husband out. Guest guest
Start doing hot and cold therapy on the back 10 minutes each for an hour - at least once a day... Deep tissue oil would be good also.
