You can tincture a few days early -- are you using 100% alcohol... if 80 you had better let it go another week or so...Jo Evans <jevans wrote:

Can I strainit after 12 or 13 days or does it really need to be 2 full weeks? Thefull moon is Sept. 12, correct? I am leaving on the morning of the 10th.What do you think I should do? If it were me.......... I would shake good before I left... making sure there is about 2" of liquid over the top of herbs... and leave sit till I got back and shake the heck out of it when I returned.... I have had to do this on rare occasion... I put them in my cabinet where it is cool and dark. I've been gone about 5 days is the longest... but they were fine when I returned.. and if I use 80 proof (which is only when I can't get to somewhere that sells 100 or everclear... I let it sit a good 3 wks or 4.... before I strain.... You're tincture might be a bit less potent but I usually take a bit more.... We do what we can in a pinch!!!

It's 80 proof vodka, is that what you mean? So I should "let it go'? I will be gone for a week from Sept. 10 to the 17th with no one to shake my bottles for me. Should I let them sit without shaking and tinctur when I get home or just go ahead and do it before I leave?
