those are all very interesting. i made it from just a quart of milk

with a bit of vanilla and honey and about a half cup of yogurt from

the supermarket which contained live acidophilus. have also made it

same way but with a couple of capsules of acidophilus from the health

store and the honey and vanilla. served it with fruit. i kind of like

the kind of sweet/sour taste. first made it in glasses and placed in

warm place in kitchen with cloth covering to keep warm and protect

from atmosphere contamination then eventually got one of the little

yogurt-makers and liked that better as it was less of a problem

keeping the temperature right. i never put powdered milk nor gelatin

in it but i can see where that could make it seem richer. in case you

are abandoning animal products other than milk you do realize that

gelatin is from animal extremities? (horses hooves if i recall

correctly.)

get a quart of milk and an acidophilus capsule or two and try it in

your little maker dealie.

good luck.. love granny lee.

p.s. saved some back for starter for next batch if able to keep from

eating it!!!!
