Guest guest
It has been a while since I posted (I do enjoy reading the post though), so I will introduce myself first. I am a 41 yr. old mother of 2 grown children, 1 grandchild, over 5 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild. I work a full time job 6 to 7 days a week. My husband does, too. We have 2 chihauaha's (sp?). No children at home. I also have a business that I am trying to build up. We have a garden. 1 acre for our yard, front and back. We are trying to build a house. Pay as we go, very slow, but we will get there. O.K. whew, Here is the thing I am 5' 6 " tall and at one time I weighed 140 lbs. I liked being 140 lbs. I am now down to 122 and look like Twiggy (if you don't know who she was ask your parents), showing my age. (sigh) I have done a cleanse this year and the last. YES IT IS HARD BUT WELL WORTH IT. I eat lots of veggies and fruits. Try not to eat a lot of meat. No bread, sugar. What can I eat that will put weight on? When I stress I take weight off very quickly. This has been a wonderful year to stress. My husband had 3 strokes, carotoid (sp)? artery surgery. And now we are looking at bypass surgery. Yes I have spoke to him about the cleanses, the diet, everything. He eats pretty good but he smokes. Anyway, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Helen in TN. Guest guest
Good fats! Young coconuts from Thailand are very good for you, and if you blend the soft flesh and the water you will have not only a nutritious drink by itself or base for a smoothie (try bananas) but good for weight gain too. Raw foodists are very into these...I can go through 5 in a day especially if it's hot given it is higher in electrolytes than any other food... Here is another good recipe: Coconut Cream 1 c young coconut meat 1/2 c young coconut water 1/2 c raw cashews soaked in water for 10-12 hours 1/3 c organic dates pitted 1 t vanilla bean 1/2 t Celtic Sea Salt In a high-speed blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. This is great as a dip for fruit or frosting for raw cakes and pies. Coconut Carob Candy If you can get good quality Raw Virgin organic Coconut Butter/Oil it melts at room temp in the summer... mix a 1/4 - 1/2 cup Coconut Butter/Oil raw crushed soaked nuts or Raw Almond Butter a little organic coconut mashed dates raw carob powder to taste Mix well together...spread on a flat plate or pie plate and freeze about an hour. Cut slices of this rich nutritious candy Eat lot's of Avocados...sometimes it's all I eat...yum, yum- best secret for great skin too! Eat raw macademia nuts and raw macademia nut butter- soak first- also almonds, cashews, and pine nuts....make pesto w/ raw pine nuts. Exercise regularly. Make your own almond milk- I can tell you how if it is new to you Use as a base for a raw shake w/ frozen banana and raw carob Good luck!
