Ok...the Master Cleanser is included here- best to read the book though.

I have a monthly newsletter associated with my aromatherapy business. As

someone who is very big on cleansing personally my newsletters often

reflect that.

 

Enjoy the recipes. PLEASE use only the best therapeutic grade organic or

wild grown essential oils when using any of these recipes and be sure to

check for the correct latin name. Common names are very misleading. Use

common sense. I have removed anything that should not be on this list

from this issue. I did not discuss dry skin brushing here, but I can not

say enough about the merits of doing it 2x daily especially while

cleansing.

Deep Cleansing For Your Whole Life

Summertime is the perfect time to introduce more fresh vegetables and

fruits and get outdoors to exercise more. Take in some fresh air. Go

biking and to the park or beach. Enjoy a refreshing aromatherapy bath or

body treatment. Drink more water and fresh squeezed juices or smoothies

with orange, carrot, apple, mango and berries - Walk outdoors at least

30 minutes a day in nature and breathe in the fresh air.

 

Aromatherapy blends and body treatments are a wonderful way to assist

the cleansing and detoxing process when combined with a fast, cleanse,

or healthy diet. Designed to relax the body, rejuvenate the skin, and

soothe the mind and body.  Body polishes and wraps enhance relaxation,

reduce stress and restore circulation.

 

Essential oils, mineral salts, and natural botanical ingredients, are

key in the release and elimination of the body’s toxins, increasing

circulation, stimulating lymphatic drainage, breaking up fatty deposits

and restoring a sense of health and well being.

 

 

 

Cleansing Aromatherapy Regimes include:

 

Body and Foot Scrubs

An excellent exfoliation treatment made from essential oils in

combination with sea salt.  This combination gently exfoliates dead skin

cells, leaving the skin smooth and radiant.  Follow with body oil while

damp to leave the body silky and well hydrated.           

 

Essential Oil Wraps

Begin this treatment with a dry brushing and a full aromatherapy body

scrub, followed bythe application of essential oils spayed over the

entire body in a base of hot distilled water or massaged with a warm

body oil infused with essential oils over the entire body.  The body is

then wrapped in a warm, comforting, cocoon created by towels or blankets

and finally a plastic wrap. Use an essential oil blend known for

detoxifying.

 

Mud or Seaweed Body Masks or Wraps

Eliminate dead skin cells and release impurities, this treatment begins

with a gentle exfoliation followed by the application of a seaweed body

mask or wrap.  Relax as the skin detoxifies with a blend of seaweed or

mud, which helps to improve skin elasticity and increase hydration while

restoring cellular balance. You can do this yourself in the bath tub or

have a partner apply the mud/seaweed/essential oil mixture wrap or just

relax. Do not let the body mask dry completely before following with a

refreshing rinse. Make sure to drink plenty of water to rehydrate, and

use a rich body oil to moisturize.

 

Anti-cellulite treatments baths, scrubs, and body oil treatments

These wonderful treatments are a wonderful complement to any weight

loss, cleansing or detoxifying program. Use of a soft natural bristle

dry skin brush can be followed by an aromatic detoxifying bath

especially designed for fatty areas on the body. Follow by an

application of a special body oil blend to stimulate areas affected with

cellulite.

 

 

Aromatherapy Recipes

Try these recipes for your essential health and rejuvenation!

 

Detox Bath and Body Oil

8 drops juniper essential oil

6 drops geranium essential oil

6 drops lemon essential oil

5 drops grapefruit essential oil

1 ounce almond oil or carrier blend

 

10 drops of this blend directly in bath water or added to 1 cup of epsom

salts and then added to bath. This aromatic blend helps rid your body of

toxins and drains your lymph system leaving you feeling refreshed and

clearer emotionally and physically.

 

Healthy Revival Bath Blend

Restore your energy and boost cleansing with this rejuvenating mineral

bath recipe:

 

4 drops rosemary essential oil

4 drops orange essential oil

4 drops lavender essential oil

4 TBSP unrefined sea salt

 

 

Try a simple Detox bath with 10 drops max. of one or more of these

single essential oils combined:

Geranium

Rosemary

Lemon or

Juniper

 

 

Cellulite Clearing Blend

8 drops Grapefruit

4 drops Sweet Basil

4 drops Lemongrass

3 drops Fennel

3 drops Juniper

 

Blend together and add 6-9 drops to water, I tablespoon carrier oil or

1/2 cup of epsom salts, add to your bath and relax

 

 

Smooth and Slim Skin Oil

6 drops Geranium

4 drops Rosemary

4 drops Juniper

4 drops Helichrysum

4 drops Lemon

2 Cypress

2 ounce carrier oil blend or light oil

Focus on congested areas and cellulite. Also good over liver area.

 

 

Cleansing Massage Oil

4 Lemongrass,

5 Lemon

4 Peppermint

3 Eucalyptus,

3 Rosemary

2 Lavender

Add to 2 oz carrier oil blend

 

Headache rub

Headaches are sometimes associated with cleansing and toxin removal,

massaging a small amount of this concentrated blend into temples and the

back of the neck and shoulders may bring relief:

 

10 Peppermint

12 Lavender

10 Eucalyptus

add to 1 ounce carrier oil

 

 

Cleansing Fresh Air Blend

8 drops Cedarwood

6 drops Tea Tree

6 drops Lavender

5 drops Lemon

5 drops Orange

 

Blend with 16 oz of distilled water shake before use as an air

spray/room freshener.

 

Fresh Pineapple Mask

Pineapple contains bromeliad, a protein-digestive enzyme which helps rid

the skin of dead cells and waste. It also counteracts histamines, has

anti-inflammatory properties, and is a mild astringent. Olive oil has

excellent healing properties and is a good source of vitamin E, which

restores the skin's surface. Use only the highest quality cold-pressed

extra-virgin olive oil .

 

4 large pineapple chunks

3 tablespoons olive oil.

 

Combine and blend until almost smooth. Apply mixture to face with

fingertips and leave on for 15 minutes. Relax. Rinse face with warm

water and pat dry. 

 

 

 

Deep Cleansing Skin Toner

If your skin tends to be on the normal-oily or congested try the

following toner:

4 drops Geranium

4 drops Sweet Orange

6 drops Lavender

1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Juice

2 Tablespoons Witch Hazel

Mix all ingredients and add enough spring water to make 8 oz. Shake

before use. Use after cleansing your face.

 

 

 

Cleansing Fasts:

 

The Master Cleanse

 

Try this cleanse for a day to see what is like, start each day with a

glass of the lemonade and eat a light vegetarian diet for a week, or

dive in a try it for the recommended 10 days.

 

This very popular cleansing fast was developed by Stanley Burroughs and

is a simple, great way to fast, drinking 1 gallon of this mixture a day-

or one 10 oz glass every waking hour along with water and herbal teas.

For best results make fresh and do not premix the cayenne. A cup of a

natural herbal laxative tea should be taken before bed each night and in

the morning a salt water flush or another herbal laxative tea. 10 days

or longer is the length of time in general for this cleanse.

 

The lemon acts as a purifier and toner, the cayenne increases the

circulation, the maple syrup supplies the necessary glucose and minerals

to keep up your energy.

 

Letting go of accumulated wastes and toxins is a wonderful release and

freedom for body, and spirit. Expect a deeply transformative experience

as you experience this rejuvenation.

 

The first 3 days require the most discipline as eating foods is so

deeply habitual. There are many ways to cleanse effectively- this is

just one popular way. Nourish yourself daily with walks, light

exercise, or yoga, meditation, reflection, dry skin brushing and

aromatherapy treatments.

 

Master Cleanse

2 tablespoons grade B maple syrup

2 tablespoons fresh squeezed organic lemon or lime juice

1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper

10 oz filtered water- hot, cool, or room temp

 

following a Master Cleanse you may want to try this next recipe:

 

Orange Flush

Developed by Dr. Stone this is a very cleansing, strengthening and

toning flush for the liver. The Purifying Diet developed by Dr. Stone is

a wonderfully gentle version of the liver flush. The regimen calls for

this flush to be taken every morning for several days and eating only

fruits and vegetables- raw or steamed plus herbal teas or water through

the day.

 

2 cups fresh squeezed orange or grapefruit juice

1/2 lemon

1 tsp Olive oil- extra virgin

1 tsp Ginger, chopped fresh

1 clove garlic

dash cayenne

 

blend all the ingredients on low, then high till frothy, strain and

drink.

makes 1 serving

 

In the Kitchen:

 

Eat plenty of summer fruits that are hydrating, cooling, and replenish

the body’s nutrition.

 

For natural cleansing we should focus on these healthy vibrant foods

rather than overworking the digestive system with processed foods, fried

foods, dairy, meats, coffee, or sugar Eat fluid rich foods such as ripe

organic melons, grapes, oranges, and papaya- in particular, raw mango,

papaya, and plain organic yogurt are ideal to ward off digestive

problems.

 

Young Coconut Water

(simply open a coconut and stick in a straw) will flush out daily toxins

and is a fantastic beverage. Check the best Asian markets in your for

these wonderful electrolyte rich new coconuts- not the old brown ones

common to our regular supermarkets. Some health food stores and

cooperatives stock them.

 

 

Refreshing Cucumber Cooler (Agua de Pepino)

1 organic cucumber, peeled and cubed

1 organic lemon, or, the juice of 2-3 organic limes

5 c filtered spring water

 

Agave (natural type of sweetener) to taste (approx. 1/8 cup)

 

Add cucumber and water to a blender and puree. Strain. Add juice of

lemon and agape to taste. Serve over ice.
