Guest guest
Lavender and peppermint are great combined for pain as was stated- especially headaches and tense muscles, but I would use very little peppermint. Peppermint can feel unpleasant to painful depending on the recipient and the amount used. It takes very little to be effective. In a 4oz blend I would use perhaps 40 drops total of essential oils to a carrier. I would use 3 parts Lavender to one part Peppermint. Marjoram is a nice addition too- very relaxing and soothing- or chamomile which is anti inflammatory. Equal amounts Lavender, Peppermint , and Chamomile is a very nice synergy. Other oils that are wonderful for aches and pain are ginger or basil, which can be irritating- so used only in proper dilution. Lavender, rosemary, juniper, and peppermint make a great back blend. New research proves Geranium also to be a very effective pain killer. I also love MSM. I use it internally and add it to my bath salts. I make a ginger/mineral salts bath that contains MSM too.
