Guest guest
Stop using your shampoo and hair products. Look for a natural one. Blend some peppermint leaf with olive or avocado oil and massage into scalp before shampooing. Should soothe the itch and leave the scalp moisturized. Guest guest
Fungus is probably the culprit here hon. Try a tea tree oil shampoo. Janet - Pee Tee herbal remedies Tuesday, August 05, 2003 8:26 AM [herbal remedies] itchy scalp I get an occassional period of time when my scalp, on the top back of my head rests upon my pillow or where my ponytail gets brought together with the rubber band. I think has or is triggered by my not completely drying my hair. That is what I have noticed, and how the itching and wet head are connected I really don't know, it does happen to me in the summer months, and I do have a thick head of long hair. If I were to speculate I would have to say the heat from my head and the wetness might be reacting with the hair shampoos.Pam_______________Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
If there is " sodium lauryl sulftate " , or " sodium laureth sulftate " , or anything with 'sulfate " in your hair products, then you found your problem. Change your products. Alcool is also an irritant. As a mask to heal yoru scalp, I suggest: 1 half ripe avocado mixed with a teaspoon of olive oil (or a better one). You mix them together and apply to your head. It will be really refreshing and heal your scalp. In the same time, I suggest you oil the end of your hair also with olive oil.Keep it at least 20 minutes. Then, you will probably have to wash your hair with your NEW natural shampoo. Good healing! Guest guest
Neige, I became really aware of these ingredients with my itchy scalp - I now have a natural shampoo and still have my itchy scalp! I found a totally organic shampoo in USA which I imported, and it made me itch worse!!! It definitely wasn't the shampoo for me! I now use an oil treatment once a week: jojoba oil with 5-6 drops tea tree oil mixed in it, dab onto scalp, and put a towel around and leave for 2 hours. Then I wash my hair with my natural shampoo. It takes the itch away, but towards the end of the week it starts itching again. I also have to wash my hair about every 2-3 days, otherwise the itch comes back. Guest guest
Lisa, try blending some olive oil, peppermint leaves, nettle leaves and an organic egg together. Apply that to your hair and scalp and cover with a towel for 1/2 hour. Then shampoo. The b-vitamins in the egg should help.
