Guest guest
OK, now this is just a feeler to see if any of you out there might be interested in a project I'm considering. This is kind of a pre-poll poll LOL ;o) Let me give you a bit of data first. This is private information, but I'm being very candid with you for very good reasons as you'll see by the end of this post. Please keep this to list members only and confidential. #1. My herbal manufacturing company "Organic Solutions" earns around $10,000 to $12,000 a month (only one source of my overall income). #2. In order to give the pharmaceuticals a run for their money, we need a lot more Mom and Pop herbal companies out there. #3. There is no reason to "hoard" either the knowledge or be "fearfull" of competition from one another. There are literally millions of sick Amercians and Canadians out there, and certainly no lack of prospects. This really is a wide open field. This idea has been nagging me for the last two weeks and simply will not let go, so here it is before I bust!!! I've been thinking of giving an extensive seminar on how to create, run and build your own herbal manufacturing business!!! Some of the things I'm looking at are: 1. I'd have to charge something for these seminars but don't have a clue as to "what" at the moment, to cover the cost of my time. 2. At the end of this seminar I would issue a FREE license to each attendee to use the name of my own herbal company "Organic Solutions" (with the difference that whatever town you lived in, the name would come after. IE. Organic Solutions Oakland, or Organic Solutions New York City, etc. The name "Organic Solutions" is trademarked by me. In some ways, this would be like a franchise but at little to almost no cost to attendees. 3. I am extremely well connected to certain organic farmers and wildcrafters and will confess that I pay a lot less for my herbs than most of you do (don't ask, because I will not divulge my sources due to existing contracts and agreements not to do so). However, there are still some middle men that I wouldn't mind getting rid of that could get these prices down even further if I had the wherewithall to order in even greater quantities. This would entail creating a "Co-op" under the Organic Solutions umbrella whereby my company would then sell to franchises (or whatever we want to call this) herbs at the lowest prices available. Is there anyone out there getting Certified Organic Tea Tree Oil for under $75 a quart??? How about fresh Certified Organic Echinacea Angustifolia for under $10 a pound??? Get the idea??? This would give all of us purchasing power. 4. How about a complete set of instructions on how to set up, run, expand, and flourish your own herbal manufacturing business. You would be the owner and yet under this umbrella I'd create. You'd also have a licence to use all of my business building materials, plus my marketing secrets (LOL, I never keep these secret, they've always been free for the asking) These are just some of the ideas that have been plaguing me, and I'll tell all if enough of you are interested. OK, it's your turn. Give me some feed back. Is this something y'all might be vaguely interested in, or am I just suffering from a Niacin overdose ROTFL ;o) Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington
Guest guest
Not really. ;o) As long as you have somewhat of an entreprenurial spirit, it is very doable. It does take work though. Guest guest
OK, well I'll "tell all" as soon as I find out whether or not it's even a "needed or wanted", and I'm not just being "out to lunch" with a wild hair brained scheme LOL. Didn't mean to "hook" you ROTFL, but this is one of those times when I'm only interested in "preaching to the choir" ;o) Only those with an entrepreneurial spirit would win with this. Guest guest
Not necessarily. I've never had a store front, though it would work well with this senario as well. Guest guest
Haven't figured out my "cut", but it would be very minimal. I'm more interested in the project and getting the word out rather than this being a major money maker for me. As long as my expenses are paid, I don't really care. I'd like to see a lot of people making good money doing what they love to do, and helping them get set up to do so would give me a lot of pleasure. The joint website would be a thing of the future, and really needs to be well thought out. Remember Herbal Healer Academy??? One of the reasons McCain got hit was because of a big web presence. Noooooo, this would really need to be discussed by all involved. You'll notice, I've never had a website for "Organic Solutions" and have never sold over the web. Don't need to. Guest guest
Whaddya mean I won't do it right??? ROTFL I have been a very successful entrepreneur for over 20 years ;o) As far as the profits are concerned, allow me to save a little for those who are truly serious about it LOL Love, Doc Ian "Doc" Shillington N.D.505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Anjeweleyes herbal remedies (AT) Groups (DOT) com Thursday, July 24, 2003 4:07 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Feeler Doc, You know I would jump quicker than Mr. Don.... But, I think this would be worth way more than I am at the moment... But, some things I was wondering about while reading your post on this... Would I need to find organic farmers myself, or would you help us out? Oh, I see, reading a little further, we would order our stuff from you...that's good, now I don't have to wonder if it's good stuff or not...and you can also make sure the other things are mixed right...yada, yada, yada. This is kind of personal/confidential, but what is your net profit? Or, is that what you meant? No need to answer this at this stage...just a thought. Not only your time, but your knowledge is worth SOMETHING also...don't you think? I understand not wanting to hoard all this, and this list is one thing...but, see where I'm going with this...or am I way off base...? This would be THE way, IMHO, to at least make the medicos take notice... If you started something like this, and could still keep this list for us and new customers, there's no telling how many history, medical, and naturopathic books you'd wind up in...Or, maybe start another just for your franchisers and customers...I don't know...but, you know what I mean... That's my feeler on this...If you do it right, no doubt you won't, but, if you decide to, this will be a very big thing. Angel
