Guest guest
Laura, check out this website as it explains food combining better than I can... http://freespace.virgin.net/lynn.miles/fcguide.html#guidelines Fruit digests quicker that carbs and starches... suzilaura_e25 <laura_e23 wrote: hi,can someone explain to me the deal with fruit combining. i've heard that you should only eat fruit alone and not combined with other food types...does this mean that my organic oat bran flakes with peaches and almond milk is a bad thing for breakfast?? would it be better to have the cereal with no fruit?? just seems crazy that if you can add another "nutritious" organic food to not do so...but now i am wondering. would appreciate any info on this...luv laura
Guest guest
Dear Laura, Get some of Dr. Shelton's books if you can as these covers most of it and he is the source of the concept. "Fit For Life" by the Diamonds is also very accurate in this department though not complete. Here are a couple of tips: 1. Eat mellons only by themselves or with other mellons only. Don't eat them with other fruit. 2. All other fruit you can combine with each other. Don't cook fruit. 3. Don't eat anything after a fruit meal for up to an half an hour. 45 minutes for bananas. 4. Don't eat fruit after veggies for two hours. Don't eat fruit after meat for four hours. 5. Apples and Tomatoes seem to break all the rules and can be combined with anything except mellons. They can also be cooked though this does destroy the enzymes in them. Hope this helps.
