head rush...

On occasion when I lay on my stomach, I get a head rush. It hasn't happened in a while that's why I've not thought about asking before...

It doesn't happen if I lay down on my side or back and then turn over after a few minutes...

It also makes sounds vibrate in my ears until the sensation goes away...

I have asked doctors before when it was happening, and no one seems to have a clue...

Can somebody please tell me what's going on here?...

Thanks so much,

Angel

Angel,

You got me stumped on this one... unless maybe the way you are laying opens up a blood vessel......maybe ought to call or email Doc on this one.... unless you get an answer from someone here...

Could you be getting an occasional bone out of place, maybe in your back,

neck, shoulder or hip that could be pinching a nerve ? If you can associate

any form of that sensation while this happens it could be linked.

Most of us don't breathe deep enough and I know from personal experience

that focussing on breathing techniques daily helps to keep the body aligned.

You can visit a sight called www.optimalbreathing.com and do his breathing

test and even email him and he will send you back a personal response. That

would be my suggestion.

Gaye,

Nope, that is hypertension or something like that...I just have to get up slowly...never noticed it while bending over though...but, it's a different kind of sensation than when I lay on my stomach....the hypertension rush makes my eyes go foggy for a minute too, but no vibration in ears...

Thanks for the post though...

Angel

You know, it sure has been quiet in the last day or two...I guess everyone is taking a breather from all the stress of this weekend....lol...I needed one too.

I used to have something similar, it felt like my a balloon inside my

head...a very full feeling...and ears ringing. At the same time, I had

something going on in my neck...felt painful, like a lump going up the

side of my neck...My herbologist said they were air goiters...Don't ask

me!!! Never heard of it before or since...She prescribed kelp for this.

I guess it may be connected to an iodine deficiency??...But not sure on

that.....I've had them very rarely since...When I do I just massage the

side of my neck in a downward motion and it usually goes away...and I

usually burp...Search me!! I don't know if this is what your problem is,

just thought I would let you know this. Does this sound like what is

going on with you?...If it does, I'll do some searching and see what I

come up with. Gaye

angel...the pinched nerve is def. a possibility. my neck was really

out of alignment and besides neck pain one of my symptoms was

dizziness and head rush when i would go from an inverted position to

an upright. it's gotten much better since i began going to a

chiropractor...maybe something to think about. the chiro also

explained that there are three types of nerves (of course i can't

remember more to be more specific) but only one nerve type causes a

pain sensation--so if you are pinching either of the other two types

b/c you have vertebrae out of whack...it won't necessarily cause you

the sharp pain that one normally thinks of when they hear " pinched

nerve. " but could cause other symptoms...like the head rush. you

may even want to look around at chiros...my chiro gives a free exam

and consultation and then based on what he says you can decide if you

want to follow up with treatment. good luck.

actually, maybe just pressure on a nerve. I've had a pinched nerve in

my shoulder before and it had sharp, piercing pain...this just feels

like pressure, alot of it...Maybe, it's tension from sitting at the

computer or quilting in the same spot for hours at the time...

> That last time it happened, I do remember I got off line and went

right to bed, and usually I straighten the house, stuff like that

before going to bed...

your body, just like it does the stomach and intestines...so, there

may be something to that...but, he says it's sharp pains like a

pinched nerve, but the gas pain will move around...

The body naturally lowers blood pressure when you lay down :-)
