I live inVancouver B.C. and have been taking a long distance 1 year program in Herbal medicine being given by the Dominion College. Im glad I found your group and probably will just listen before I try to contribute as you all are so much more knowledgeable than I am. I am going to give a recipe however 1 Flour Tortilla Filling: Refried beans( the healthy way) Take 1 cup dried pinto beans and 1 cup dried black beans, cover with water in large pan, soak overnight with 5 cloves of garlic added to water, drain beans, wash, add water to cover, turn on high heat, at boil turn down heat to med low and cook untill tender and mashable. When almost cooked add 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, 1 finally chopped hot pepper, 1 green pepper and 1 onion that you have sauteed in olive oil, take off heat and mash with potato masher add salt and pepper. Rice....cook long grain white rice (or brown if you prefer) 1 cup to 1 and 3/4 cups of liquid( water, veggie broth) adding chopped onion, tomatoes, nushrooms salt and pepper, cumin 2 tsps. chili pd. 2tsps ( you may also add mushrooms, zuchini etc) Putting it together...Take warmed tortilla spread with refried beans, next layer rice, next layer salsa(optional), next layer sour cream (optional)roll it up and voila...Cheers, Marcia nd email in a recipe... now the recipe has to have the following: Grains..... any kind.... sprouted OR Beans ..... any kind... sprouted OR itI spoke with Valorie (Doc's wife) and we both agree... that there are probably some great recipes out there and we want you to share them. I think I'll have to try this, but with the brown wild rice... white rice isn't that good for you... I'm hoping to compile a list of recipes for the group in the files..
