OK gang.... here is one for you

I want you to put on your thinking caps....(you won't have to think very hard)

and email in a recipe... now the recipe has to have the following:

Grains..... any kind.... sprouted OR

Beans ..... any kind... sprouted OR

it can be totally vege or fruit

the grain or rice recipe can have vegetables or fruit and/or nuts

It can be a main course meal or a side dish.... (deserts and snacks will come later)

BUT IT HAS TO BE ONE YOU HAVE MADE AND LIKE.

I spoke with Valorie (Doc's wife) and we both agree... that there are probably some great recipes out there and we want you to share them. So write them up just like a recipe... ingredients, quantities and how to....etc.

Send in your favorite recipe.... make your subject title "Wholesome Recipes"

Cleaning out the fridge rice-

Cook sprouted rice, I ususally use Basimati long grain brown (yum) in veggie broth I ususally add a bay leaf, basil, rosemary, thyme, ect.. When rice is nearly cooked or setting~ Put oil in a frying pan or wok throw in onion, garlic and any fresh vegies in the fridge- usually carrots, celery, peas and pepers. Cook only long enough to make hot and combine w/ rice. Topped w/ almonds for an extra treat.

Breakfast

! apple

1 banana

1/4-1/2 c berries (usually strawberries or blueberries here)

suppliments

Juice the apple, throw everything in the blende.r Oh yeah this will help keep you regular.

Of course everthing is organic :D

Well,

Now...I don't know what a quinoa queen is...so, I don't know if I am one or not...Zeb, I still don't have a dictionary!!! or any good recommendations...

I have been racking my brain...I mostly cook separate things, like squash, chicken breasts, and maybe some green beans...

We've already got salsa and salad...

Oh!!!! Oh, Oh...it's not raw, but here's one:

Simply Good Chicken:

CHICKEN BREASTS (deboned and skinned)

BELL PEPPERS(green and red)

ONIONS (which ever kind I can find)

MUSHROOMS (I've only used regular, but, which ever ones you like, I guess)

FAVORITE COOKING OIL

MOZZARELLA CHEESE (OPTIONAL)

All amounts are your choice.

SAUTÉ PAN

9X11 OVEN PAN

CUTTING BOARD

KNIFE

SPATULA

GRATER, if cheese is in a chunk

Set oven at 350 degrees.

Sauté chicken breasts in just a little oil. You want it to brown and not be covered with oil. I leave them whole, slice them if you want.

Slice onions and peppers.

I also throw the peppers and onions in with the chicken. You do not want any of it done at this point, just the chicken browned.

While the chicken is browning, slice mushrooms or leave them whole if they are small (it's up to you). And, grate cheese if you're using it.

When chicken is browned, put it with all the veggies into the pan. Cover with cheese. You might want to add just a little more oil to the pan.

Now, when the chicken is done, we eat. Oven time varies, just keep checking, as you want the chicken done, but not dry.

You may want to leave the onions and peppers out of the sauté pan if you don't want them as done. I just like them browned a little.

This is so good, even my husband (who does not care for "healthy") will eat the chicken.

You can also sprinkle the chicken with lemon pepper for variation, but it is not necessary for this to make you slap yourself, it's soooo good!

Cleaning tip:

As soon as you take it out of the oven, remove everything and put the pan in hot soapy water to soak. It won't be as hard to clean that way.

All incoming and outgoing scanned with NAV for both our protection.

This is an awesome idea. I love it ;o)

I'm sure Valorie and Suzi will try these and put them into the files.

I've got only a few requests to put in here and that is:

1. These recipes should not contain refined sugar.

2. All grains used should be sprouted.

3. All recipes should be made with organic foods.

4. Special brownie points will be given for ALL RAW RECIPES ;o) though don't let this stop you from putting in your favorite "cooked".

Love,

Doc

ok.. this is a real no brainer it's so simple but we like it

2 qt microwave dish

2 1/2 cup water

1 cup brown rice

sprinkle well with chicken fahita seasoning

cover

microwave 5 mi on high

turn down to 50% and microwave 45 minutes or until aldante and water

absorbed.

remove into a 9 x 13 pyrex baking dish and line bottom of dish with

the rice.

layer on top of the rice;

any frozen mixed veggies like brokoli, cauliflower, carrots, lima

beans, spinach, what ever you like cover and microwave for about 27

minutes. do not cook too long, i like them nearly raw. Just enough to

tenderize slightly the brokoli. ( i am going blank on spelling tonite

and my webster newworld dictionary weighs a ton and i can't seem to

pick it up tonite.LOL.. so try to ignore the spelling.:) )

Sometimes i put a layer of green canned beans, or canned sweet peas.

sometimes i spread a large can of spinach using most of the liquid to

soak into the rice. Or even a can of pinto beans with liquid. (they

are not sprouted but that small amount won't hurt!)

Sometimes I chop up a huge onion and spread it over the rice first,

then the frozen or canned veggies.

When we are ready we take it out of the frig, take a serving out to

eat, add chopped onions and celery and maybe a bit of minced garlic,

maybe some seasoning salt, and i usually don't even heat it, just add

a tiny bit of ranch dressing low fat and toss and eat.

Sometimes i add a dollop of cole slaw and toss it and this is a good

flavor.

Sometimes i add morsals of stirfried chicken breast, perhaps sauteed

in fahita seasoning or buffalo wing seasoning.

Ivan adds picante or salsa sauce to his... i may add jalepinos or

some quite hot paprika to mine.

We have a similar meal each day to get our veggies. I am a cheese

freak but trying not to eat it, but sometimes i melt a slice of cheese

over it. 3(

love, lee.

Lee,

Sounds good except the part about the microwave.... have you read the articles regarding them... can you rewrite this without the microwave...?? Microwave kills the good stuff in food to put it simply.

ok.. this is a real no brainer it's so simple but we like it

in 2 qt heavy saucepan

2 1/2 cup water, bring to boil then pour in

1 cup brown rice

sprinkle well with chicken fahita seasoning

cover, reduce heat and simmer until rice is tender and water

absorbed.

empty into a 9 x 13 pyrex baking dish covering bottom of dish with

the rice.

layer on top of the rice;

any frozen mixed veggies like brokoli, cauliflower, carrots, lima

beans, spinach, what ever you like cover and bake at about 450 for

about 40 minutes or until vegies are heated through.

do not cook too long, i like them nearly raw. Just enough

to tenderize slightly the brokoli. ( i am going blank on spelling

tonite and my webster newworld dictionary weighs a ton and i can't

seem to pick it up tonite.LOL.. so try to ignore the spelling.:) )

Sometimes I chop up a huge onion and spread it over the rice first,

then the frozen or canned veggies.

Take a serving out to eat, add chopped onions and celery and maybe a

bit of minced garlic, maybe some seasoning salt, and if it has been

refrigerated, i usually don't even heat it, just add a tiny bit of

ranch dressing low fat and toss and eat.

Sometimes i add a dollop of cole slaw and toss it and this is a good

flavor.

Sometimes i add morsals of stirfried chicken breast, perhaps marinated

in fahita seasoning or buffalo wing seasoning.

Ivan adds picante or salsa sauce to his... i may add jalepinos or

some quite hot paprika to mine. (love salsas as much as cheese but was

told not to eat nightshade plants and need some zing!)

We have a similar meal each day to get our veggies. I am a cheese

freak but trying not to eat it, but sometimes i melt a slice of

cheese over it.

love, lee.

PS you don't need to feel obligated to add this to your collection..

my own children prefer something a bit less mixed :) like steak and

potatoes..duh!
