Guest guest
I don't agree with that MJ. Senna leaf and pod are great cathartics. As such, they create peristalsis and stimulate glandular secretions. The biochemical properties work directly on the tissue of the bowel regardless of nerve supply. It is true that you should use it on a gradient scale and works best with other cathartics such as Casgara Sagrada, Turkey Rhubarb, and Cape Aloe, but I've had some patients with little to no bowel strength on it for well over a year with no deleterious effects. As their bowel strengthened, the dosage cut back, but that only makes sense.
