I pop the pill in the back of my dogs throat as she sits and the I hold her mouth closed and massage her neck in a downward motion. This stimulates swallowing and when I'm sure she's swallowed it I then feed her her daily meal. When a dog diarrheas after Int. Clns. #1 it means parasites are coming out. Usually I will give Int. Clns. #1 to my dog for three days after diarrheas stopped to make sure. It doesn't hurt her in any way and at most she just has more to pick up after. She's very healthy and not fat at all. This kills them as well or better than anything the doctor will tell the pharmacy to sell you. Iodine tincture is very cheap to buy. You will of course want to keep it out of the reach of children, for it is a poison if swallowed. In our family, we've found that it is only necessary to apply the iodine tincture every third day. The fungus is usually gone in a week or so. The fungus lives for years as there hadn't been a dog in that house for at least 4 years. Be sure NOT to cover the area with a bandage as it can cause a severe burn. When i was little i got a blister on my foot and thought i would be really smart and doctor it myself while momma was next door. I took a cotton ball, placed it on the open iodine bottle, tipped it up and had a nice neat circle of iodine on the cotton, then plunked it on my burst blister which was just at the top of my shoe, put the shoe on to hold the cotton in place and went smugly about my merry way. Check a feed store you can get 7% Some Pharmacies will order it for you but it is more expensive.. I keep the 7% for my goat kids naval cords..and for the dogs if they need it, and on occasion have used it for myself...
